"From the initial estimate and quote to the actual execution of the work, Pedro and his team did a fantastic job. They were diligent, consistently on time, accommodating of our requests, and completed the basement finishing—approximately 700 sq ft—in just three weeks. We couldn’t believe the pace of their work. The quality was excellent. Keep up the great work, Pedro!"

"Excellent ‐ I currently live in a house that TrokStar Construction completely gutted and rebuilt. Neighbors often will stop by saying they can't believe it's the same house. The interior came out stunning ‐ I especially enjoy the modern kitchen and bathroom. The highlight though is probably the handed crafted fireplace mantle and frame. I would highly recommend TrokStar for any construction project, big or small."

"We had a wonderful experience with Handyman Matters while redoing our kitchen. They removed the bulkheads, moved electric wires to the attic, added under cabinet lighting and recessed lights, overlaid the drywall on the ceiling, laid the floor tile, assisted the cabinet installers, added thresholds, plumbed the sink, installed trim and all the other details included in a remodel. The workers showed up on time daily, worked efficiently, never left a mess and kept us informed during the project. They did an amazing job in turning our old dated kitchen into a dream space."

FAQs for acoustic ceiling tiles install projects in Pittsburgh, PA

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.

Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.

Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.

Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
