"The fixed my master shower and also plastered my finished basement ceiling and painted the basement ceiling and walls. They do excellent work. I am in a private group of FB and I posted Marcia's business card on it."

"John repaired some water damaged ceilings in my house a month ago. The job was fairly extensive and needed the plaster to match the swirl pattern in the rest of the house. He did a very good job for me and kept the place clean by sealing off the area with plastic sheeting and covering the entire hardwood floor with heavy paper. The job took two people two days and cost $1,500.
Since John worked out so well, I brought him back for another smaller plastering job after a plumber had finished repairing some pipes for me. He repaired some areas that had severe water damage and needed the old plaster cut out and replaced. The job took two people 3/4 of a day and cost $550. He knew exactly what to do, did good work, and cleaned up after himself. I am an engineer who has contracted many private contractors to rebuild an renovate several homes that I have lived in over the years and can say with no reservations that John is top quality at a good price.

"I hired Silmac construction to remodel my basement. They put in a three-quarter bath, kitchenette, and finished the rest of the basement. This included cutting foundation for full size windows, putting in a new zone for heating and cooling system, and all the plumbing and electrical work needed. They were very professional and did an excellent job. I have gotten many compliments on our basement and I will hire them again to do work on my house."

"The work went really well. Once Pedro’s team got started they worked really quickly on the project, and were even able to accommodate additional work that we added on as we went (once the popcorn ceilings were removed we decided to have the ceilings and walls painted, and a new light fixture added to the dining room). Everything was finished quickly and looks great!"

"The crew that worked on my house was professional and hard working. They arrived punctually in the morning and worked straight through the day with minimal breaks. They were very careful to cover the entire floor and all of the furniture and left each day having cleaned up the debris from the plastering, sanding and painting. The rooms look great including some pretty beat up radiators, window sills, and doors that now look fine. A few days after completion , after a very humid day, there were some cracks in the ceiling paint. I called and Lindo was immediately available to evaluate the problem. He said right away that he would, of course, fix the ceiling at no cost once he had determined the best strategy. This was not in any way negligence on his part but rather one of the dilemmas that can arise with old houses. I have used different painters in the past. Supreme Painters are not the least expensive but the quality and the thoroughness of the work are worth the price."

"MMP inspected the roof and gave us a quote the next day. They did no maintenance work but credited us on the replacement quote. Once we signed and placed a deposit on the new roof, the scheduling was quick (within about 1-1.5 weeks). After confirming our color choice, they dropped off the shingles/supplies on a tuesday and by the end of the next day they were completely done and cleaned up. Found some stray plastic in the back yard but otherwise everything was cleaned up well. Looks great and seemed to hold up well in the recent downpours we had."

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.
Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.
Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.
Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
