"i was not able to be there when they were removing the popcorn ceiling and then texture the ceilings. I found they could work independently!"

"Charlie did a great job, starting with putting up plastic to protect the floors, furniture and rest of the house. The work was done with care to get a quality result. The final repairs blend perfectly with the existing ceiling and walls. He was very professional in planning, discussing and completing the work. Cleanup was very thorough. His price seemed reasonable based on other descriptions on Angie's List, but I didn't get any other bids and don't have much other experience. My focus was more on getting a quality job completed."

"Mike spent a lot of time prepping and ensuring everything was covered and protected before beginning the popcorn ceiling removal. His clean up after the job was excellent as well leaving the house in the same condition he found it. He patched and sprayed the bare ceiling leaving it ready to be painted. I m having his associate spray paint it this coming Monday. Can t wait to see the finished product. My wife is thrilled to see the popcorn finally gone."

"I hired MG Drywall to repair ceilings after doing electrical work. Miguel is great. He is very fast. Miguel and his crew did a lot of work. Hanging drywall, complete skim coat on the ceiling and texture. The results are great. Would never know any work was done. I highly recommend MG Drywall and would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you for a fantastic job"

"Mr. Lee was first contacted mid-morning and conducted the estimate before lunch. He returned after lunch (as promised) and repaired a 2' drywall tape separation near the top of my vaulted ceiling (about 20' up). He noticed other minor drywall imperfections around the house and promptly repaired those as well for the original price. He was prompt, courteous, reasonably priced, friendly and professional. He takes great pride in his work. Can't recommend him highly enough!"

"We could not be more pleased with the work from Kyle Beym Home Improvement. Kyle himself is very professional, came out to discuss the job, timeframe, and exactly what we wanted done. The work was scheduled at a time that was convenient to us. We scheduled so that work would be done while we were out of town. Kyle Beym and his employees were very clear in their communications and forthcoming in what we could expect. The work they did was top notch, the job was completed on time, they were very thorough in cleaning up after the work was done (before we came back home), and it was so exciting to come home to ceiling that had been retextured, painted, and with new recessed lights and ceiling fan installed. We were blown away by the quality of the work. You will not be sorry with this company!"

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.
Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.
Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.
Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
