"I was extremely happy with the popcorn ceiling removal and the new orange peel texture that was done in my new house. The work was professional, clean, and the results look fantastic. Everything turned out better than I expected. I would highly recommend Bill Livingstons to anyone looking for drywall replacement or texture work—they did an excellent job from start to finish."

"What can I say except thank you, thank you, thank you to amazing and gifted craftsmen. Lance, Frankie, Johnny and crew came into our home and began to make magic. They rid our home of old popcorn ceilings, prepped them and applied texture and paint. They removed old floor-to-ceiling mirrors and added the needed crown moulding. They then replaced a ceiling in the laundry room and repaired one in the bedroom. They also built a header, with needed crown moulding, and installed a barn door to separate the bedroom and bath area. And finally, they painted all the rooms in my “go to” color. They then moved on to replace our lanai ceiling that had fallen due to moisture. They were here every day until the job was complete and cleaned and swept at the end of each day. Their knowledge of all situations with paint is excellent. They are true craftsmen. I absolutely love how it turned out and would definitely hire them again. I highly, highly recommend them to everyone!"

"I had a small ceiling repair to cover a hole from a light fixture that I replaced. Larry responded within minutes, came to check out the job, provided a reasonable estimate and was able to complete the job the next day in under 2 hours. Ceiling looks great and the area was cleaned up once he was finished. Couldn’t be happier!!"

"Awesome service! I keep a clean house but with a recent surgery for my husband, had to call for help since I can't find the time to keep up the house. My gosh, they did a 10 better job then I ever have. I dust my ceiling fans--they get on ladders and hand clean them. Amazing job...even cleaned inside my oven!

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.
Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.
Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.
Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
