"I would definitely recommend them. They repaired drywall on several of our ceilings and painted them. They were efficient, easy to communicate with, polite, and hard working."

"I found Altract here on Home Advisor while looking for a company to perform a complete repaint of my three bedroom condominium. I needed walls, ceilings, trim and doors painted. I received a total of 4 estimates and Altract's was the lowest bid. Part of how they were able to come in with the best bid was their willingness to suggest several practical, cost-saving measures that still fit in with my overall plan without sacrificing quality. The work was top notch. No complaints. I'm very happy with the results and have money left over for other needed home improvements."

"This was such a fun remodel! I was nervous to redo my kitchen because I thought it would take months to do, but Michael and his team at Cahaba building company were in and out in a little over a month. It was a full demo with new cabinets, backsplash, tile, the whole ordeal. I would love to redo one of my bathrooms one day and will definitely use Cahaba Building again! Very reasonably priced and very quality work. Michael made sure I was happy with the work every step of the way. Worth every penny!!!"

"Revive service is excellent. I like their responsible work attitude, work efficiency, and best of all the super quality of their professional work of fixing my ceiling."

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.
Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.
Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.
Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
