You'd never know there were holes there. He was responsive via phone/email beforehand and came on a Saturday to get it done (which worked great for us, because we didn't have to go too long with holes in our living room wall.)"

"We chose VKB mainly on its reviews on this website. Overall the experience was very positive. We were pleased to learn that VBK did not charge a fee upfront to design the kitchen. Calvin (kitchen designer) made excellent suggestions to improve our original vision and was responsive to changes to the design. Calvin convinced us to choose wood floor and crown molding, and the type of range hood, and he was right on all counts! Because of the smooth design process with Calvin and reasonable price, we decided to sign on with VBK over other companies. The implementation phase had some bumps: the design drawings that Jason (project manager) and Ismar (crew leader) started with were not the updated version, but thankfully that was quickly rectified. In addition there were some misunderstanding on the scope of the painting area, but Calvin agreed to honor what we had discussed verbally, even though it was not spelled out in the contract. Jason listened and patiently explained the project process, and kept asking to make sure that we were happy with the progress. For example, he agreed to redo the placement of the undercabinet lights. He also accommodated our desire to donate our old cabinets to Habitat for Humanity, and Ismar and his crew carefully took the down the cabinets and stored them in our garage for pickup later in the week. Ismar, Luis, and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job installing and painting everything, and their experience showed in disguising the fact that our walls were not straight and the floor was not even. We were also impressed with the laser tools that they used to guide cabinet and light placements. The crew was careful, meticulous, and respectful, and they cleaned up throughly every day. There were other crews handling the flooring and countertops, who also did top notch work, and all were coordinated like clockwork by Jason. Along the way, we learned some lessons and offer the following advice: if you are particular about the placement of your celling lights, electrical outlets and switches, let the crew know, and they will do their best to accommodate. Also, pay attention to every single detail in the contract; if not specified, there can be a misunderstanding, and a deviation may require a change order and extra expense. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the excellent quality of the work, and even though there was a delay in the backsplash order, the job finished as projected. We definitely recommend VKB, and we love our new kitchen. Jason -- we are happy!"

"Everything from the bidding process, through completion, was handled with the utmost care and professionalism. Dimitri and every person who he brought into our home treated it as anyone would want their own to be treated. This was not a small project. They vaulted the ceiling in the living area, completely removing the roof on half the house, and did a full new roof. Matched the existing red oak hardwood flooring, and sanded/re-stained the entire upstairs. All the plumbing and electrical in the entire house was replace. New kitchen, 3.5 new bathrooms, finished basement, combined two bedrooms to make a master suite. New HVAC. New generator…. You name it, and it was done. When all was said and done, I think our two hall bedrooms were the one walls that weren’t torn down. We could not possibly recommend Dimitri and his company (his two sons work with him as well) any higher. They are honest, and hard working. Old school in all the best ways."

"They did a great work. They got here on time. They kept the work area clean and work fast. The work was done on the ceiling. The ceiling was falling down because of old buildings standards. The builder used nails instead of screws."

"Isabella and her crew of three other ladies arrived ahead of time. Services were performed. We did notice a couple of areas for improvement after the staff left. Specifically, there was some kind of black residue on the bathtub and floor corners were not cleaned adequately. For the monthly price quoted, I would hire them again. If hired again, I would call the problem areas to Isabella's attention & conduct a more thorough review prior to her departure so that everything can be resolved immediately.."

"All I can say is he is amazing. I had a complicated plaster need that had been poorly done by previous contractors and had reached the point of thinking a good looking ceiling was not possible. "When I called John Krause he was able to come over later that day to give us an estimate. We had purchased new kitchen countertops from Lowe's  and when the contractor came out to check the measurements he told us that the cabinets weren't level enough to support the solid surface countertop we ordered. Another contractor came out and gave us an outrageous bid for leveling the cabinets so we decided to call John Krause. After John quoted us a price he told us he could have his guys come out the next day, which they did! Two of his men came and removed the old countertop, disconnected the plumbing, and leveled the cabinets. It took about 4 hours in all because the cabinets were really out of whack. John's guys leveled everything perfectly and showed me with a level so I could see for myself. The guys did a fantastic job, were polite and well mannered and cleaned up after themselves.
About a week later one of John's guys (Josh) came back and reconnected the plumbing and installed a new faucet we had purchased. It was hard work because the space was so tight and I am sure it must have been challenging but Josh did a great job and we are super happy with the new sink and faucet! The additional charge for this work was $300 and we felt it was very fair since our plumber would have charged almost double. We will be using John again in the near future.
