"Luke's drywall man, Hymie, did an excellent patch job ( about a 4 X 6 foot area) on our basement ceiling! He matched the popcorn texture with the rest of the ceiling perfectly! I would highly recommend 3rd Generation Drywall."

"LA Drywall did a wonderful job removing my textured ceilings and painting of the ceiling once complete. Omar was a good person to work with throughout the process of quoting all the way to clean up of the job site. I wanted to have my textured ceilings removed once I bought the house. Due to the reviews on LA Drywall I went with them, and they did not disappoint. My ceilings are smooth, and bring a whole new life to this 1980's ranch home. Omar did a good job explaining the job to help me prepare. The paint job was excellent too, as I was trying to not have to paint all the walls after the job was done. The job was completed in less than a week, which was better than quoted and on budget. Once the job was complete, my floors were clean and I was ready to move in. I recommend you give them a call for any drywall or painting needs, as they do a great job."

"I submitted a request through Angi to find a contractor to patch and paint drywall on the ceilings in a couple of rooms after damage from a roof leak. I was contacted promptly by Juan, and he came out within a few days to assess the work and provide an in-person quote. The job was completed within a week. Juan was kind, professional, and did a flawless job. I’ll definitely keep him in mind for future projects and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of similar work!"

"Best drywall work that I have had done in any of my homes in the past few years. Excellent customer service, finished the job on time, and pricing was great. We had a fair amount of big seams to fix as we took out a wall and scraped the entire downstairs ceilings popcorn off. They made easy work of a big job. Already planning on hiring them for another up coming project. 10/10 recommend"

"Did a great job hanging the sheet rock and painting. Neat, efficient and the room looks great. Would hire him again."

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.
Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.
Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.
Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
