"Pete did a great job with installing a drywall ceiling in my basement. He did a great job cutting around all ten light fixtures as well as some challenging vents and piping. He left the work area clean and tidy after each days work and did a great final clean up as well. Was on-time and worked hard all day each day of work."

"Taulant did a great job with my small drywall project. He arrived last Saturday morning and finished the job later that afternoon. I will do my own painting and I'm confident it will look seamless once painted. I strongly recommend him"

"YB Paint came and fixed a patch on the ceiling, he did a great job, was efficient, and cleaned up the construction debris afterward. If I need another drywall or paint job done I will definitely hire him again"

"Accurate Drywall & Finishing did a great job with the walls and ceiling of my 12' x 32' living/dining room. It needed two FULL skim coats after the coat I had put on myself (I had been repairing bubbled paint, etc.). They left it smooth and ready for painting. They were very timely, getting it all done within a week (this was a 3-visit job due to drying time, etc.). They were responsive to my rather demanding standards. I recommend their services!"

"Erzsebet and two other ladies came to do whole-house cleaning prior to us moving in. Granted the place was filthy and appeared to have not been cleaned in years. They arrived promptly and had most of their supplies with them. The other ladies got right to work while Erzsebet talked with me about the job and the cost. She charged $100. per hour which I thought was pricey but I understood given that there were three workers and quite a bit to do. They cleaned the house thoroughly although Ezsebet herself stopped several times to talk with me about problems such as cleaning parts of the washing machine and light bulbs not working (although she did replace the light bulbs with new ones I had). I asked her to go back over a couple of areas such as the marble floor in the bathroom and the trim on some doors. They worked for over 3 and a half hours (half hour more than estimated) and I paid $350. The house is abut 2500 square feet.

"We recently hired Juan at KB&D Remodeling to tackle a long list of projects around the house, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. He replaced faucets and a shower head, regrouted and sealed gaps in the bathroom counters, and even sanded down several doors that were dragging on the ground. Every single item on our list was handled with care and precision. The quality of the work speaks for itself. Everything looks and functions beautifully. What really stood out, though, was how reasonable the pricing was for the level of craftsmanship we received. Juan is clearly someone who takes pride in what he does. If you’re looking for a reliable, skilled handyman who delivers excellent results at a fair price, look no further. We would recommend Juan at KB&D Remodeling without a moment’s hesitation. 10/10!"

"They did a fine, very fine job in replacing the siding and trim with an everlasting material that would benefit me for a long period of time. The workman was pleasant, and Howard would come by to check on the work and I was very pleased with their job."

"We hired them for a detailed clean of our house before a graduation party. Walls, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and everything in-between. We did a walk through at the beginning to make sure we were all on the same page. So detailed! We will definitely hire them again!"

"We needed crown molding & painting in 3 of our rooms, dining, living, and den. Nermin came to the house and took measurements. The next day he emailed us a quote for material and labor. We then agreed to terms and a date to begin the project. Nermin brought his crew on the agreed date and they were able to complete the project in one day. Our house is old and the ceiling/walls are uneven. Therefore, Nermin had to do extra work to acheive the right fit. The end result is gorgeous...paint and all! My wife and purchased this home for several reasons, but one thing that attracted us the most was the kitchen. It had recently been remodeled and we fell in love with it. After working w/ Nermin, we learned he had actually done the remodeling w/ the previous owners. New cabinets, tiles, appliances, insulation, granite counter tops, etc. The kitchen is an attraction to all of our guests. It is where we host all of our social gatherings. Nermin has done many projects for us in the past and will continue in the future. He is extremely trustworthy & dependable. The first time he did work for us he had me come to his home to see the beautiful word work he had handcrafted in his living room and kitchen. He has also done work for our neighbors and friends throughout Chicagoland."

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.
Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.
Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.
Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
