"Great price and very good service! Rey ‘s painting I had a fantastic experience with Rey’s Painting & Drywall who painted my house. He was professional, punctual, and paid great attention to detail. The quality of his work is outstanding—clean lines, smooth finishes, and everything looks fresh and beautiful. He also kept the work area tidy and was respectful of my home throughout the process. The job was finished on time and within budget, and he even went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the results. I highly recommend Rey’s painting &Drywall LLC to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled painter. Truly top-notch service!"

"Pete did a great job with installing a drywall ceiling in my basement. He did a great job cutting around all ten light fixtures as well as some challenging vents and piping. He left the work area clean and tidy after each days work and did a great final clean up as well. Was on-time and worked hard all day each day of work."

"YB drywalled our ceiling after we took out a drop ceiling, revealing damaged plaster. They did a fabulous job. They took good care of the old original crown moulding as they removed it temporarily. 100 year old wood and nothing was damaged! Would highly recommend them!"

"Accurate Drywall & Finishing did a great job with the walls and ceiling of my 12' x 32' living/dining room. It needed two FULL skim coats after the coat I had put on myself (I had been repairing bubbled paint, etc.). They left it smooth and ready for painting. They were very timely, getting it all done within a week (this was a 3-visit job due to drying time, etc.). They were responsive to my rather demanding standards. I recommend their services!"

"We hired them for a detailed clean of our house before a graduation party. Walls, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and everything in-between. We did a walk through at the beginning to make sure we were all on the same page. So detailed! We will definitely hire them again!"

"Nirmin did a very good job with the multiple tasks that I needed performed. He was
very professional and explained everything that he would do and showed me what was wrong with the faucets, windows and the ceiling fan and how I could fix them in the future, if necessary. He answered all my questions and performed all the work in a timely fashion. I was very satisfied with all of the work as well as the price. I will definitely be using Nirmin again. I have found a handyman that I can trust and can be confident he'll do a good job.

Ask the following questions to make sure you know what’s involved and that you’ve hired a good team:
Is your company licensed, bonded, and insured?
What is the best tile size for my project?
What fire rating do my ceiling tiles need?
How long will it take to install the drop ceiling?
What is the height of the finished drop ceiling?
Most residential building codes require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet from the floor to the finished drop ceiling, ensuring adequate headroom and safety compliance. Since requirements can vary by location, consult your local code enforcement office or a professional installer to confirm the specific clearance needed for your project.
Installing a drop ceiling results in a loss of ceiling height ranging from 3 inches to 8 inches. The exact amount depends on factors like the size of the fixtures above, such as ductwork or lighting, and the manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Local building codes also dictate minimum ceiling heights, so it's important to consult with a professional installer to determine the optimal drop distance for your specific space.
Installing drywall costs between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing—significantly less than the $9 to $13 per square foot average for a drop ceiling. While drop ceilings come with a higher initial cost, they offer greater design flexibility, easy access to utility lines, and are simpler and less expensive to repair. To minimize expenses, consider budget-friendly fiberboard panels, though their appearance may be less appealing to some homeowners.
Drop ceilings offer several advantages and disadvantages.
Pros:
Easy to install and repair
Conceal stains, ductwork, and other unsightly elements
Provide quick access to ducts and wiring for maintenance
Available in various styles to suit your design preferences
Cons:
Reduce ceiling height
Tiles may require replacement after a few years
Less sturdy than traditional ceilings
Installation can be more time-consuming than drywall
Removing a drop ceiling costs between $2 and $7 per square foot, which includes disassembling the rail system and removing tiles. Factors such as ceiling size, accessibility, and disposal fees affect the total cost. If you're removing a drywall ceiling, expect costs of $2 to $4 per square foot. Hiring a professional ensures safe removal and proper disposal, preventing damage to underlying structures.
