"Drywall and Paint LLC Snohomish just completed the removal of popcorn ceilings and interior painting of my 1979 home. Out of the three bids I got, his was the middle bid. I chose this company as David Morales and his team impressed me as being trustworthy. I am so glad I did! They communicated the exact hours of work, and were true to their word. Part of the project was to remove and drywall over a doorway. David added two studs and patched it up! There is no evidence of the doorway. He also filled various holes throughout my house where there use to be outlets. It is wonderful to have this project completed so professionally. I highly recommend this company to others!"

"First impressions go a long way. I sent out a request to several Angie's List companies to get a quote for our master bath remodel. Vic was the only one to reach out to us. While I have heard it's good to get three quotes, when no one will respond, you don't have much choice. We were novices, and when we met with Vic he walked us through our ideas and let us know what would work, what wouldn't, and was attentive and listened to our ideas and concerns. The quote may have been higher than we might have paid elsewhere, but I am firm believer in you get what you pay for. As for his team, they were a pleasure to have working on our project, from the electricians to the plumbers to Tony, who did a great job with the tiling. Even if you only get one quote, I feel that Vic and his team are well worth it. Kitchen next?"

"I have an unfinished garage and a laundry room that needed new drywall and ceiling panels. Ron and his crew did excellent work. They were informative as to what type of materials were required, and were punctual on the day of the job. I would definitely hire them again in the future."

Customers say: True professional

"Chris has a lot of all around knowledge. During flooring installation in kitchen, utility room and bath he removed and replaced appliances and plumbing. He also framed up a new wall and doorway and put in drywall and finished it. Very happy with the finished job. He was always on time, clean and didn't leave any mess. My house is old and out of square and he made things work."

FAQs for acoustic ceiling tiles install projects in Marysville, WA

Ask the following questions to make sure you know what’s involved and that you’ve hired a good team:

  • Is your company licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • What is the best tile size for my project?

  • What fire rating do my ceiling tiles need?

  • How long will it take to install the drop ceiling?

  • What is the height of the finished drop ceiling?

Most residential building codes require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet from the floor to the finished drop ceiling, ensuring adequate headroom and safety compliance. Since requirements can vary by location, consult your local code enforcement office or a professional installer to confirm the specific clearance needed for your project.

Installing a drop ceiling results in a loss of ceiling height ranging from 3 inches to 8 inches. The exact amount depends on factors like the size of the fixtures above, such as ductwork or lighting, and the manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Local building codes also dictate minimum ceiling heights, so it's important to consult with a professional installer to determine the optimal drop distance for your specific space.

Installing drywall costs between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing—significantly less than the $9 to $13 per square foot average for a drop ceiling. While drop ceilings come with a higher initial cost, they offer greater design flexibility, easy access to utility lines, and are simpler and less expensive to repair. To minimize expenses, consider budget-friendly fiberboard panels, though their appearance may be less appealing to some homeowners.

Drop ceilings offer several advantages and disadvantages.

Pros:

  • Easy to install and repair

  • Conceal stains, ductwork, and other unsightly elements

  • Provide quick access to ducts and wiring for maintenance

  • Available in various styles to suit your design preferences

Cons:

  • Reduce ceiling height

  • Tiles may require replacement after a few years

  • Less sturdy than traditional ceilings

  • Installation can be more time-consuming than drywall

Removing a drop ceiling costs between $2 and $7 per square foot, which includes disassembling the rail system and removing tiles. Factors such as ceiling size, accessibility, and disposal fees affect the total cost. If you're removing a drywall ceiling, expect costs of $2 to $4 per square foot. Hiring a professional ensures safe removal and proper disposal, preventing damage to underlying structures.
