"All of the work was completed within the time agreed and at the price agreed. Contractor and subs were personable, easy to work with, diligent, and cooperative. The retexturing part of the work consisted of converting a heavy Spanish trowel texture to a light orange peel - the quality of the result greatly exceed our expectations. Quality of all the other work was good. We thought the price was fair for the amount of work involved. Would definitely consider Jeff/ Sarasota's Best Construction for any future remodeling project."

"Ivanilde's cleaning crew showed up early to begin the job. They sent out three people to ensure the entire job was done before dinner. They cleaned everything from the ceiling fans to the floorboards. All horizontal blinds were dusted. Windows were cleaned inside and out. Special care was taken to remove hard water stains from the bathroom grout lines. We were very pleased with the prompt and friendly service provided by Ivanilde's Cleaning Services. We plan to use this company in the future for our once a year deep cleaning that we no longer have time to do ourselves!

"Mike arrived on time and quickly went to work on the multiple drywall repairs, texturing and painting projects in our recently purchased home. I was so impressed with his work that I also hired him to remove the last of the popcorn ceiling in the garage, retexture (knockdown) and paint the ceiling. One of the projects involved repairing a hole that resulted after electricians relocated a ceiling fixture that was seriously off-center. The electricians tried to get me to use one of those ceiling medallions to cover up the previous hole, saying that it would be noticeable no matter what the drywall guy did. Well, the electricians came out yesterday to finish their work and they could no longer see the previous hole. Well done, Mike! What I really like about Mike is that he very professional and stays on the job until the customer is 100% satisfied. His workmanship is excellent and pricing is very fair. He also cleans up after the job. I will hire him for any future drywall, texturing, and paint job and highly recommend him to anyone looking for these services."

A drop ceiling is a type of secondary ceiling that is dropped down below the actual ceiling of a room, hence the name. It’s made up of ceiling tiles (made of fiberboard, foam, wood, metal, or plastic) supported by a metal grid. The space between the drop ceiling and the structural ceiling can be used to hide wiring, pipes, and HVAC ducts.
Most drop ceiling installations take about two to three days, including the time needed to build the grid frame, install it, and place each ceiling tile properly. Your installation might take more time if you need to modify plumbing, HVAC ducts, or electrical wiring to accommodate the new ceiling.
Most drop ceilings require a clearance of at least three inches from the structural ceiling, though you’ll likely need more than that to make space for pipes, ducts, lights, fans, sprinklers, or wiring. In many places, building codes require a minimum ceiling height of seven feet, which can limit the amount of clearance you’ll have between your drop ceiling and structural ceiling.
Yes, you can paint a drop ceiling, but it’s not always recommended. Painting a drop ceiling can sometimes void your warranty because using improper paint or technique can cause the tiles to sag. Paint can also negatively affect the fire resistance, soundproofing, and light reflection of the panels. Consider these downsides before taking on ceiling painting costs.
