I had no idea how to make the island coordinate with the rest of the updates. The island had to also be functional to be able to withstand the weight of granite. What Amethyst construction designed is beautiful. Also, the new fireplace mantel is such an interesting piece. Matt took the time to find a piece of wood that had some interest. He did it. 
All of the people that worked in the update were friendly and professional. Each day the crew cleaned up. We love our new lower level."
