Customers say: Terrific value
"We have used Dean for 3 projects: driveway, stamped concrete patio and replaced cracked concrete pad. All have been done on time and were amazing!! They are professional, within our price range and went above and beyond our expectations. We have recommended them to family and neighbors who have also hired them and have been just as Happy!!!!! You will not be disappointed. If I could give higher than 5 ⭐️ I would!"

"We are beyond pleased with the work. The Sotos crew placed down wood to protect the sod around the areas they were working and during the concrete pour put up plastic sheeting to protect the surrounding area. The crew was very professional and cleaned up after themselves each day. They matched finish texture to the adjoining concrete and blends well with the existing concrete in both locations. We would hire Sotos Concrete again."

Customers say: Quality work
"Very accommodating and forthcoming with information. Van is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in his trade. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted and Van was able to help guide me through the design process. The pricing was reasonable, and the quote was thorough and simple to breakdown the different line items and pricing tiers (i.e. brushed, textured, and stamped concrete). Once I agreed to the quote Vicki scheduled the work to be done. She was even able to move the installation date up per my request. Van and his crew were extremely respectful and hard working. My concrete patio and walkway are beautiful and I would definitely recommend Van Croshier Concrete to anyone looking for concrete work."

"LevelUp leveled a sunken sidewalk with the driveway, sealed the driveway & all sidewalk seams and then put a sealant over the entire concrete driveway and sidewalks. Their workers were very focused and paid great attention to detail. Looks great!"

"Colin and his crew were very professional. They showed up on time, on the day they said they would be there and were done when they said they would be done.Though it has not rained as of yet, so I don't know the outcome of the trench. I believe this company is true to their word and work. That is a rarity now days. Colin said that if there were problems when the hard rain came he would reassess the problem if need be. I'm crossing my fingers he doesn't have to, but have piece of mind if he does. I would use this company again in a heartbeat.

"We contacted Indiana Foundation for a free inspection of our attached garage that we're turning into a bedroom for our handicapped son. We had several places that leaked where the wall meets the floor. A Mr John Hill did the inspection and then answered all our questions to our satisfaction. He was quite the professional but did not pressure us in any way, like most salesmen do. We decided to go ahead and schedule to get the waterproofing done. The cost was reasonable and it made sense to get it done now rather than wait for more damage to occur, making it more expensive. We look forward to meeting the crew. John Hill came as an inspector and left as a friend. Indiana Foundation is lucky to have him on their team."

"Great price for the work, had some concrete slabs of a 38 year old multi-slab patio leveled. very happy with the results to remove trip hazards and return proper slop for rain runoff. Hope that i wont need them again but will use them if I do and would recommend to anyone."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
