From the moment, we contacted JR Paving, we dealt directly with the owner. I can't day enough about his professionalism, punctuality, and honesty. Many contractors didn't even return our phone calls when we said it was a residential job. They didn't even want to hear the fact that our residential driveway was actually fairly large. JR Paving came out after one call.

He evaluated the existing driveway and was able to point out all of the problems before I ever had to mention them. He discussed the various options.  Presented everything very clearly and honestly with a fair price.  At one point, we were considering expanding the driveway on one side to better reach a shed.  JR Paving came up with a better alternative that met our real requirement and was much cheaper than the expansion that we had suggested.  Again, it was the straightforward and honest approach that sold us.

We booked that day. The owner told us that he'd be back within a week to start the job. He wrote up the contract and we were good to go.

Exactly as promised, the JR Paving crew showed up on the day/time agreed upon. They quickly went to work in removing layers of the old driveway, outlining the current perimeter to include the new area near the shed, and prepping the surface properly for the asphalt. With the prep work finished and after determining the correct grading for the new driveway, they laid the new thick asphalt surface.

The entire job took about 3 days.  While I was unable to be at home for the installation, my father (a retired tradesman) volunteered to come over to the house and "supervise" for us.  We came home each night to rave reviews from my father, who is not easily impressed.  He mentioned continually, how the crew didn't cut corners and made sure to take extra care in getting everything right.  he also noted that the owner was right there throughout the project, making sure all was done to his satisfaction.

After the job was finished, the entire site was cleaned.  The driveway was blocked off for a week to allow it to properly set.

It has been 2 months since the installation and the driveway looks great and is properly graded for our property.

Since installation, we have been contacted by JR Paving to check on our satisfaction.

"We had hired a company to shoot foam under our concrete because the concrete around the house was slanting toward the house, causing rain water to seep toward the house. Well, that was a disaster because all it did was make all our concrete uneven, with tripping hazards and new places for the water to seep toward our house. We contacted Andy Sholl, owner of Sholl Stonework. He and his workers did an amazing job, and we are extremely pleased. They removed a portion of our driveway. a long walkway around our house, as well as two pads of concrete which butt up against our house (for trash cans, etc.). All of those areas were replaced with new concrete, making sure that the concrete sloped away from the house to avoid standing water. They paid great attention to detail, making the concrete look esthetically more attractive going around curves or cut-ins. Andy and his workers were so hard working, so professional, and so pleasant to work with. But the best thing is - their work was outstanding. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!"

"They were very meticulous in pouring and finishing the concrete sidewalk. They sealed the concrete to protect from heavy road salt. They replaced dirt and restored my lawn to the previous condition. This crew shows up a scheduled time for the job, gets their own permits, and schedules inspections. We love our new sidewalk. It’s perfect!"

"We cannot say enough about Plymouth Nursery. Since the project was completed last week, we have spent some time each day sitting on our new front porch admiring the beautiful work they did. Start to finish, the project went perfectly. It began with Joe meeting with me to talk through possible designs. We wanted to have our dated stepping stone pathway replaced with EP Henry pavers. We used to have a concrete slab at our front door with a covered porch. Joe suggested that they continue the pavers over top of the existing concrete slab. That had never occurred to us but as soon as he suggested it, we agreed it was a great idea. Then a couple weeks later, he came by again and showed me a large plot of the computer drawing that they had created of our proposed design. I was so impressed with the professional quality of it - it looked just like our house but with all new landscaping. We did get a couple other quotes just to be sure we were being diligent in our search for contractors but it was a no-brainer decision to go with these guys. The project started on time and finished on time and everything went very smoothly. After they started laying the pavers I changed my mind about the pattern and wanted to add a border. I know this added a bit of rework and required them to get extra pavers in the border color but Joe made the change and didn't even charge me extra for it. The end result is beautiful, it came out far better than we even hoped it would. And having the pavers continue onto the front porch makes it feel like we have a whole new patio to enjoy. So to summarize, they do great work, they communicate very well, they are very reasonably priced, and they even take Visa (for no additional fee). How can you go wrong???"
