"John and his crew were all very professional and did a great job on our new concrete driveway. It can be very difficult to get people in the trades to even return a phone call. This was NOT the case with Cemex. John was extremely responsive, gave me a fair and detailed quote quickly and came to do the work when he said he would come. The work was even completed ahead of schedule. I recommend Cemex highly and would hire them again."

"Eli and his crew did an amazing job in our yard. They built us a beautiful patio, a raised garden with a picket fence around it, replaced a gutter on our garage and fixed pavers that had sunk below the driveway level. They were hard working and remarkably efficient. I will use them again and refer them to my friends."

"We had heard of Organic Roots through friends and their previous work at my office. Dan gave us a very reasonable estimate in April, expected to have the work done in late May, but it had to be put off to mid-June due to weather and his schedule; he is very busy. He stayed in touch very well with us through email, although there was one weekend where he said his associate expected to start on the work but no one called or showed up. We were extremely pleased with the work he and his coworker did on our yard. The company's philosophy is very "green," which we liked. Our yard is mostly shady so Dan helped us work with what we have without pouring on chemicals. We have not even been in the house a year, so Dan helped us identify what plants we had and where they would work best and how to care for them.In clearing out some of the ivy, they discovered a lot of rocks underneath which was significantly more work for them. After talking with us, they removed them all and made a nice little rock wall where the ivy was, and only charged us a little more for the extra work. Our yard looks fantastic and we would definitely use them again!"

"Went great. We asked for some changes to patio shape and Dan did just as we asked. He used wall pavers that he removed from previous retaining walls to repair and add to a retaining wall behind the garage. The patio travertine is gorgeous and the granite edging was well done. His work was done well, quickly and neatly. Repairs were made to lawn from heavy equipment used and it came in beautifully. He gave us great instructions which we followed 😀. He included plans for an adjacent deck which we will be using in the spring. He and his crew worked really hard. Thanks, Dan!"

"I wasnâ t sure if I needed porch repair or new porch. William gave me a couple of options and I went with new porch and a section of new concrete for my walk way. William was very professional. He made sure to explained everything and asked it I had any questions or concerns. He also kept me updated with the project which I really appreciated. The porch came out beautifully!"

"LawnMark did an awesome job on our concrete driveway replacement and new stamped patio in the back yard. Excellent service. They also do landscaping and removed a tree before installing concrete to avoid future root issues"

"We were extremely pleased and satisfied with John Bruno of CEMEX Construction and his employees. They were professional, efficient and courteous. They fixed our problem of water seepage in a corner of our basement within a few days and charged us 63% less than a larger business also advertised on Home Advisor. We also appreciate their attention to our yard and cleanup when they were done."

"After calling to the USA Waterproofing Company for a free inspection it was not but a day or two before Steve was out to assess the problem with my wet basement. (prompt as promised) Without jumping to conclusions of what could be the cause He is working with me on possible solutions without prematurely digging up my foundation/waterproofing process when that might not even be the solution. How easy it could be for a company without Integrity and concern for the consumer to sell an expensive service just for their bottom line. I have total faith that USA Waterproofing Foundation Services will continue to service my residents until this water issue is solved. I will recommend (and already have) to anyone in need of these type of services for their home. They are a ***** company."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
