"The work went extremely well. The concrete is now properly raised and sloped for drainage. The gap between the slab and my front stairs is also sealed. It looks great. I highly recommend Perma-Seal."

"We recently had AJD Concrete do our patio, sidewalks, and front stoops, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Their team was professional, punctual, hardworking, and paid attention to every detail throughout the project. The quality of the work is outstanding — everything came out clean, level, and beautifully finished. Our patio completely transformed the backyard, and the sidewalks and stoops added so much curb appeal to our home. You can tell they truly take pride in their craftsmanship. Communication was excellent the whole time. They answered all of our questions, kept us updated throughout the process, and made sure everything was done exactly the way we wanted. The crew was respectful, efficient, and left the area spotless when the job was complete. If you’re looking for reliable, honest, and skilled concrete professionals, I highly recommend AJD Concrete. We couldn’t be happier with the final result and will definitely use them again for"

"My first few quotes showed me what the patio would look like with paver bricks and I thought that was my only option. They suggested concrete which I actually wanted originally. They started about a week after our chat and finished the job in a day. It looks really good and clean"

"Crew arrived on time and worked efficiently. As the project progressed, 2 foundation cracks were discovered which added $900 to the original estimate. Old insulation along foundation wall was removed and replaced with silvery foam sheets. Joints were taped. Some leveling of the floor was done. Sheets were laid over the gravel floor also (crawlspace is not used for storage). 2 window well covers were installed. Our main goal was to have a warmer floor in the room above. We haven't noticed a major improvement yet."

"Very well, our home is more leak proof / water tight than when we bought it some 30 years ago... and is anticipated to remain so for another 30+ years. All the mentioned work occurred during 3 visits spread across some 18 months; but none of the visits required more than a single day to complete. Work was conveniently scheduled and the worker(s) always arrived on time; if not 15 minutes early. A year after our last work was done (the poly-jacking), The Real Seal, at my request but at no charge, even sent out a technician to replace/redo some concrete plugs in those poly-jack holes that had popped out probably due to outdoor temperature swings."

"Done-Rite did an asphalt & concrete install in our parking lot and did a fantastic job. Their pricing was conpetitive and the quality of their work exceeded our expectations. They were able to work within our scheduling requirements so we did not have to interupt our normal business. Nick was on site to make sure they did everything we asked and answer any questions we had. It's great a find a company that does what they promise, with excellent quality work. We would hearrtily recommend them, and expect to have them back for future projects."

"J & F did a great job. Julio was responsive, showed up on time and did a great job. They weren't able to shift over an extremely large piece of concrete that was out of alignment, but they did improve it, and we can landscape around the imperfection. We did have an estimate from another company that was a couple hundred dollars cheaper, but they never showed or contacted us back. So, there you go. Would hire J & F again."

Customers say: True professional
"Gregg and his team did an excellent job. They replace an old wood deck with a beautiful stamped concrete patio. The team worked so well together, jumping in to help each other, with no one standing around. They were professional, courteous and hard working. They left the site clean and in good shape. I would highly recommend Custom Concrete."
Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
