Customers say: True professional
"Stunning! Jack went over and above what I expected. Excellent craftsmanship, unbelievable work ethic! Met his father who is also in the business. Jack is at least a second generation concrete guy. Both are of good character and solid work ethic. Amazing work which makes my 1968 house look almost new! (Great price, too.)"

"Very well. The crew arrived on time and set to work. Meanwhile, Nicholas himself went far beyond the call of duty to deal with problems tunneling chipmunks had created under the patio his crew had installed a several months ago. He removed a row of pavers, dug down about a foot and a half, and built a concrete barrier to block their routes, spending several hours himself on the work. He did this at no additional charge. As usual, the work on the new walkway was perfect. And Nicholas always makes suggestions for little improvements, as he did yesterday, to flare the walkway where it joined another one. His crew also did some additional work on another area that hadn't even been discussed previously or included in the quote, again at no charge. Nicholas is an honorable businessman. He and his crew do impeccable work, and are a pleasure to deal with."

"We found mold behind our finished basement walls and evidence of water intrusion. We had the wall product removed and then talked to several companies about solutions. Tarheel’s analyst was extremely thorough, spending maybe 1-2 hours of evaluation time. He generated a quote at the time of visit. Their quote was competitive in price and similar in scope to other bids. I do not perceive any sales pressure while recognizing that they do stay in business by performing work. The crew arrived on the anticipated date and worked over two days to break up the perimeter concrete, install the wall and drain system, and replace perimeter concrete. They also restructured our sump pit and drainage. The crew was good to work with and they had a clear crew chief that communicated well. Really everything went as we hoped. I had some follow up questions in the following weeks, and the office connected me with the same crew chief. He answered my questions. Since this work we had them come back and install a battery backup sump system."

"Bryan and his company, EpoxyPro Coaring are GREAT!! We extended our concrete patio and had them put on a covering on it. We originally said rhat we wanted to just paint the concrete but decided on having a coating put on it. It turned out fantastic. FromBryanto the crew that did the workweek totally satisfied and highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
