"I had a 50+ year old concrete patio that has multiple patches of varying concrete colors and lots of cracks that needed to be replaced. Joe and his team removed the old concrete and replaced it with pavers. Joe did exactly what I asked and even made some improvement suggestions that I am very happy with. They always arrived exactly on time and worked very hard during a very hot summer. They are consummate professionals. It has been a couple of months since they completed the job, it looks wonderful and I get a lot of complements on it. I could not be happier with the outcome."

"From the moment I contacted Paramount Pavers & construction, Isaac was in contact. Before the project began he came and went over the whole project answering any questions. First was the concrete crew. They were like a well oiled machine. They removed the old sidewalk & porches and hauled away all the old concrete neatly and profesionally. The new concrete was poured and it looked like artists at work! Next, the porches were formed, the concrete was poured and Alfonso created the waterproof porches. During all phases of the constrution, Isaac was in contact with us and stopped by multiple times to make sure all was going well. One time when I had a question, he was over an hour away but still came by to explain and talk to me about my concerns. Our front walkway and stairs look so much better and function so much better. I really appreciate the excellent work and I really appreciate the personal care that Isaac showed. We will definitely hire Paramount Paving & construction for the next project!!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"Mike and his team were best in class. We hired Mike to repave the concrete around our yard, install new fencing, and build a retaining wall and basketball court in our backyard. He had a great eye for the project's design, worked together to finalize the plan, and executed on time, on budget, and with great care. His team was extremely professional and always on time. Communication was excellent and we were always on the same page throughout the project. The project turned out great and I look forward to working with Mike again."

"Erosion had started to affect planting beds along the backyard slope. Way To Go Builders built a retaining wall using concrete blocks with drainage behind each section. The Project leader supervised tier height and alignment. The wall stretches roughly 50 feet, stabilizing the slope and creating usable garden terraces. The completed structure allows planting, walking paths, and seating, improving function and safety."

"I am absolutely thrilled with every part of the process and the final product!
I used Pacific Pavingstone about 10 years ago on another home, and found that their pricing was about in the middle of the pack, their professionalism and quality was excellent, and for only slightly more than concrete we ended up with a much better product.  Although we sold that home, it is in Studio City and we have driven by over the years--the driveway appears to be wearing well and still looks great.
When it came time to do work on another home, I bid the work out again and used Pacific Pavingstone for all the same reasons I originally selected them.  While they may not be the cheapest, I felt that they were by far the best value for the best work.  System Pavers quoted me $25,000 for our little job!!  And then offered to discount it to $20,000...  still a lot of money.  They had a beautiful power point presentation showing their work, and spent a lot of time bashing the competition to justify their high price.  But beside the fancy presentation, they spent very little time looking at the design and plans for our specific project.
When Pacific Pavingstone came out, I felt comfortable with them right away.  They were here on time and were very professional.  They use their own people to do the work, so you know that your salesperson will also be responsible for managing the project.  No "bait and switch" here.  And most importantly, they took the time not just to show us a power point and point us to pretty colors and designs, but they spent the time to look at our lot, the type of soil, the drainage, etc. and to make sure the the proposal wouldn't just look great but would be structurally sound.  When they identified a potential drainage issue and we balked about the cost of adding a line to the street, they first just cautioned us that we might have standing water... and then without prompting by us just threw in the drainage without adding onto the cost, because they (not us!) couldn't live with the idea that we might have drainage issues.  With the pouring rain this week, we are so grateful that they took care of this!!!  The total cost was only $11,000... a fraction of the cost System Pavers was trying to justify... and I didn't feel like I was compromising.  I fact, I believe I got a better product than I would have with System Pavers, and a far better price!  Great people.  Great work.  A beautiful project.  And I am absolutely confident in their professionalism and the pride that they take in the finished work.
This is my second time with Pacific Pavingstone, and if I have to do another project, I'm just going to call them out and not bother getting competing bids.  A class act.  Couldn't be happier!

FAQs for concrete work projects in Hollywood, CA

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
