Customers say: Quality work

"James was a pleasure to deal with, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. We needed our concrete garage floor replaced, involving removal of old concrete and pouring new concrete. It turned out there was some water under the old floor (well under grade) so James added plastic sheeting under the new floor. Also pointed steps. He brought as many a 5 workers to the job, all appearing very competent. The work looks great. Would definitely recommend Rock Solid."

Customers say: True professional

"We had a fantastic experience with Moretti Driveway Paving & Patios! Frank was great to deal with — honest, straightforward, and a real standup contractor. We had received other estimates that wildly overstated our square footage and came back with outrageous prices, but Frank’s estimate was fair and accurate from the start. His team was professional, efficient, and clearly takes pride in their work. They completed our new driveway and stone retaining wall quickly, and both look absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and our curb appeal has gone way up. If you’re looking for a contractor who’s reliable, transparent, and delivers quality results, I highly recommend Moretti Driveway Paving & Patios. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!"

"Luis provided a quotation, excavated the ground around the wall, and replaced a portion of the concrete-block wall with a poured concrete wall. He was at all times diligent in his work, prompt in providing updates, and patient in addressing my questions."

"Antonio and team repaired a retaining wall in the outdoor stairwell to the basement, and built a fence with gate around it for safety. They also leveled my stone patio. The work was high quality and Antonio was extremely responsive. I got three quotes and theirs was most competitive, and they were available within a few days."

Small jobs welcome

"We had a very tight schedule to dig and pour 8 footings and a concrete pad for a new deck. Jeff came through for us and had the footings dug quickly even though it was not easy digging. Because of the location of my septic tank and field, using heavy machinery was not an option. They worked around every obstruction including large rocks and drainage pipes while hand digging each of the footings. Jeff worked with my carpenter to ensure that the holes were exactly where they needed to be and was adaptable to making changes on the spot. Jeff and all his employees were courteous and a pleasure to talk to. We really appreciated how he worked with us on such short notice and that the quality of the work was great."

"GREAT JOB!!! Green Desire completed major landscaping work for me, by removing trees, grinding tree stumps, flattening the surface, seeding the lawn, and installing a new walk way. They did a fantastic job to my complete satisfaction. I now have a green lawn which receives many complements from my neighbors. I would highly recommend Chris and his crew for any landscaping work."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Mount Kisco, NY

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
