"Bill did a repair to some decorative concrete. He basically did some re-surfacing because of chipping on the crack line. He stood behind a pervious warranty. Bill made it look like there was no patch and is almost seamless. Throughout the job he was very dependable and kept in good contact the entire time. He did not charge for the repair service because he honored the warranty. I would definitely use this company again because of their honesty and workmanship."

"MDH stayed in contact with me during this busy time. I received a quote for foundation work from another “reputable company” that was 3x higher and not what I needed. My rep Jim F was knowledgeable and explained why I didn’t need what was previously quoted and quoted me a very reasonable cost for what I did need. The crew showed up and got to work. I was expecting to be there all day and they were done in a couple of hours. I recommend this company hands down. Thanks MDH!"

"Craig is very customer oriented! He listens to you as you describe the project. Craig gives appropriate feedback. He treats you with importance and not a number like some company reps do. I have a couple of projected projects planned over the summer where I will be contacting on. I was quoted an excellent price for the driveway extension."

"Shore Up Foundation Repair LLC was recommended by Tallahassee Floor Finishing. Jake from Shore Up Foundation Repair showed up bright and early the day after I called. He assessed our situation, came up with a plan, a reasonable price and a schedule right at our kitchen table. One of the most satisfying aspects of working with Shore Up was their communication. Before the crew, Jadon, Devin and Wade, showed up, Jadon texted their arrival time. Any time there was a question or information that needed to be conveyed Jadon kept me informed as to what was happening and when it would happen. Jadon, Devin and Wade worked diligently to complete the job in one day. They discovered a small plumbing leak that I was able to get repaired by a plumber the next day. Jadon showed back up to make sure all was right with the situation. I highly recommend Shore Up Foundation Repair for any encapsulation or moisture problems in your home. They are prompt, friendly, competent and affordable."

"They were priced great for the job and did it when and as they said they would."
Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
