"Had a leak in a 70 yr. old chimney w/three flues. Interviewed several HomeAdvisor contractors and with his experience and approach chose Build, USA who proposed a plan of action to address the leak and serious problem of fireplace smoke backing into our family room. To upgrade the chimney - old, damaged bricks were replaced w/o disturbing surrounding mortar. Then discovered the flues were too short: so flues, brick chimney & damper pull chains were lengthened and entire concrete crown replaced. The right size flue caps replaced. Copper flashing around chimney base replaced to extend over surrounding roof and sealed. Skylight flashing updated & secured. Chimney was hard brushed clean, waterproofed and guaranteed 25 years. "Prior to these guys saving our property, we foolishly hired an under-qualified contractor to install a large patio and retaining wall system. They uprooted the previously installed pavers, flawlessly re-pitched and graded the base, planned for all the possible drainige issues that might come up, and completely cleaned the pavers and property of any remnants of their work. It created a lot of dust which was expected and dust managed to make its way into the home. but the work was very professional. I tend to like things perfect so thats why I gave them B on quality but the important things were done well. In the end there was a lot of dust that eventually fell to the floor after completion but as I was having more work done it was not an issue."
