Customers say: True professional

"Hogan's Concrete was a pleasure to meet and work with. Right on schedule, excellent work ethic, exact specs, and they go the extra mile to build it right. They communicated well and had very pleasant employees. We were very pleased with the end product. Very obvious that they are experts in their trade with years of experience. We would highly recommend them to anyone for their projects. Thank you Nick Hogan."

"The lifting and crack sealing of my driveway and front walkway/porch was fantastic. The driveway sank a little bit a couple of months after application and they came back to lift it free of charge. However, if you need concrete flatwork done, I would suggest going elsewhere. We had two corners that needed poured because they were too damaged to lift. They had to come out to repour three times in one year, and the concrete is already starting to crack again."

"Big shout out to Dil and Cruise for doing a splendid job . They were very courteous, patient enough to listen to my concerns and very friendly. The Job was to lift the concrete and seal the joint and cracks . Time will tell how well the seal will hold especially with colorodo weather but so far happy the result. Thank you Trasher."

"Martin trimmed our tree line. He and his crew did a fantastic job. All the rain put him behind, but he kept in contact with me and put me at the top of the list when the ground finally dried out. Great job with clean up also."

"I had my driveway redone with a sidewalk to my patio. From my first meet with Napoleone for our estimate to completion of my concrete work, he and his guys were very professional, clean and respected my house, neighbors properties. Looking forward to having them back for more work! Highly recommend Napoleone and his family."

"Mark is one of the most amazing contractors I have ever worked with. His son helped with some of the work. He even brought over several church members to help with some of our restoration. You cannot ask for a better person to work with. John Frum"

FAQs for concrete work projects in Pickering, MO

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
