Small jobs welcome
"It went well beyond my expectations. We went with pavers rather than concrete. Joe gave us a good estimate. He stuck to the budget and the timeline. The work Joe did for us is a work of art. Beautiful. Pavers cost more than concrete but worth every penny."

"Thomas and Like arrived on time and met with me to verify the scope of work. I showed them one additional item that I would like to be completed and they were able to do that. They met with me a couple of times during the project to show me what had been done and what limitations they were looking at based on the condition of the concrete. They completed the work and showed me what they had accomplished. I was extremely satisfied with their work. Great team and good representatives of LRE Ground Services/Foundation Repair."

"Our home was built in 2016 and the driveway had formed deep cracks on one side due to erosion. Alvin and the 2 Jason's who performed the work we're phenomenal! They explained the whole process of the work they were going to do and had no issues with us watching and asking questions. They did explain with the way the driveway had settled that the worse crack wouldn't completely close. Since the work was completed there hasn't been any sand on the bottom of our driveway. We're happy with the results and can't say enough about the crew who worked so hard to complete it! Thank you, Helicon!"

Customers say: Terrific value
"Mike came in the afternoon to provide a quote. He provided recommendations of what needed to be done to insure our driveway widening would never settle and drain properly. Once the permit was ready, Mike scheduled the following Monday/Tuesday to complete the work. He paid attention to details and the finish work on the edges and surface were perfect. He returned a day later and removed the forms and saw cut the drive to guard against cracking. We couldn't be happier with his work performance. His price was exactly what we thought it would be and I am going to use KMB Concrete & Masonry Services for another project we have planned."

"Had the foundation repaired and the crew of Danny, Dylan and Nick did a fantastic job. Professional, neat and fast. Cleaned up and showed me the work. Also had concrete lifting done by two crews. Brad and Dailin, Cooper and Blake. Both crews did a good job and answered my questions and concerns. I would recommend Alpha to anyone seeking foundation repair or concrete lifting."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
