"Anyone looking for concrete work, hire John. He has years of knowledge and expertise, and that was evident in his craftsmanship. I had him build a 15x20ft patio with stairs, and it looks beautiful. I couldn't be happier. He got it done in a timely manner, and did exactly what he said he was going to do. His finishing was also excellent. He filled in all the tiny holes and blended the steps together seamlessly with the pad. Overall, my spouse and I are extremely satisfied. I would hire him again for any future concrete work. Thank you!"

"Only minor problem - owner underestimated the amount of concrete, resulting in a second truck being ordered. This extra cost was passed on to me."

"The pictures above were taken in my yard, where Mr. Jimenez has been solving my erosion problems. My dogs turned my fenced yard into a muddy racetrack. I had tried for a couple summers to grow the grass back but the yard is sloped and too shady. I asked several landscapers to give me ideas and bids, but none made sense. Looking over local businesses, my intuition told me to contact Mr. Jimenez--and I'm glad I did. We decided to put a stone path along the perimeter, where my dogs do most of their running. Then, I asked Mr. Jimenez to seed and cover the rest of the yard, which he did expertly. After he did all that work so well and so affordably, I've given him a list of other projects: a repair of my kitchen wood floor, some more outside erosion control, some "spring cleaning" and painting, etc. When it comes to work around my house, he's my new go-to guy."

"lst off the guys broke the sprayer on the end of my hose when they were mixing concrete I guess. It was old, but they did not mention the breakage. The work that was accomplished look good! If it keeps the water out of the basement, then they are rated at a 5. Have to wait and see. It is truly hard to evaluate the job except on appearance. They just finished the job a couple of hours ago."

"Big shout out to Dil and Cruise for doing a splendid job . They were very courteous, patient enough to listen to my concerns and very friendly. The Job was to lift the concrete and seal the joint and cracks . Time will tell how well the seal will hold especially with colorodo weather but so far happy the result. Thank you Trasher."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
