"They started the job quickly, worked diligently, and took just two days to build our new concrete patio from start to finish. Reasonable cost too. Very pleased with our new patio, and with G.C. Construction Company."

"It went very well. Jay did an excellent job. He dug out a footing for a pergola and made my pond larger. I recommend him to anyone. He knows what he is doing. And does it well."

"Alabama Foundation Specialist did an excellent job without making a big mess. They were able raise our large concrete walk way a couple inches back to its original height. They were professional, quick, and a pleasure to work with."

"I had two lots that needed to be cleared of concrete blocks and debris from the wildfires. Chris was very prompt in responding to my initial request. When we met at the sites he was very insightful and thorough as to how he would achieve what needed to be done. He is very conscientious on doing a good job and is a master on the excavator. The entire job was above my expectations including cleanup and not to mention a fair price. I would highly recommend."

"I’m so happy with the job that David Brakebill and his team did at our home. We had masonry work that need to be done in a very precise and detailed way. They did a great job finishing the project. It looks fantastic and I’m already looking to them to do another project for us, I would encourage anybody who needs trustworthy, communicative and reliable work done David Brakebill, and his team other ones for you. "The man who did my foundation repair (removed rotted timber from under front door and installed new rot proof wood, then added concrete facing) was competent and friendly. He insured that the job was long lasting and secure. The front porch had sunken over time. His concrete facing was installed in such a way that future leveling of the porch will be difficult."

"Garage Experts arrived as scheduled, completed the installation in 2 days. They were very professional and the area was clean when they left. The color options were a lot to choose from. Very knowledgeable about concrete floorings. I tried to upload a photo but it was too big."

"I hired Quality Lawn Care late last year to remove the remnants of a root system, grade and level out my lawn away from the house, and reseed. Everyone was friendly enough when outperforming the work, but the yard did not look level. When I asked about it, they said it would settle and level out and if there were any issues to give them a call. After everything started to grow in and I cut the grass I found several areas where roots were exposed in addition to an overall unlevel lawn - let alone the grading being non-existent. I took it as the downside of having a large tree removed and reached back out to them to get a quote on having everything gone over again in addition to other work - fully expecting to pay for the service. They were quick to respond and come out to get a quote. Larry was very friendly and got everything down for additional work while stating the original work would be covered and done free of charge. That was a great relief to hear ... except that was the last I heard. I have called the numbers I had previously several times across three weeks and left messages with no response. I left 1 star for work quality and value since they performed some work. I left a half star for customer service since they were friendly when dealing with them, but there was ZERO follow-up and have now been ghosted. Shameful way to reconcile an issue by offering to guarantee work and then disappear. -UPDATE: I was contacted by Quality Lawn Care to schedule the work as the rain continuously delayed schedules and they had to wait on the dirt to finish the landscaping. After a few weeks, we were able to get someone out and they completed the grading with fill dirt. I will have to rake the spots in the lawn that were filled as it contains a lot of rocks and asphalt chunks that I do not want to hit with my mower. I watered everything multiple times a day per their instruction, but grass is not growing in the spots that were fixed - likely due to the dirt condition. That said, I have revised my ratings accordingly."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Tallassee, TN

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
