"The Concrete Doctor was professional, personable and efficient. He explained everything that he would be doing to make my driveway look great. We set a date for when the work would be done, he called and was here when he said he would be. My driveway looks beautiful and I would highly recommend this company."

"Ron is a fantastic jack-of-all-trades. Ron renovated the roof of our large old pole barn and put in a concrete floor. We were very pleased with the work and he gave us the most competitive estimate - and then stuck to that estimate! We had the unfortunate luck that a large tree fell in our barn soon after completion. What re the chances!? We again hired Ron - this time to clear the tree and repair the (now severely damaged) pole barn. Trust him entirely! His work is great and he is easy to communicate with."

"Ron and his son showed up on time and stayed on the job till it was completed. It wasn't a very big job, but the patio turned out picture perfect. I had a bare concrete patio that measured right at 700 sq. feet. Ron came this morning and pressure washed the job then applied an acrylic basecoat. They waited around till it was dry and then sprayed on a grout color that I had previously chosen. When that dried they laid out 2' by 2' foot squares using some tape. Together they sprayed an acrylic texture to the deck, then used trowels to even it out. Ron and his son when to lunch and came back after it was all try and painted in the main color I chose. The job came out spectacular! Ron cleaned up after himself and didn't leave a bit of trash for me to have to clean up after him. The price was fair and the service was even better. I would defiantly hire him again or recommend him to a friend. Thanks Ron!"

"I bought a house about 4 years ago and my whole patio by my pool started washing away. I called Florida Foundation, they came out and lifted all the concrete, redid my gutters and saved my pool and patio. They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and always communicating with me. I know the job was much larger than they anticipated. They stuck to their quote and did the job perfectly. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone and already have. Dustin and Nathan were in charge of my job and they were the best."

FAQs for concrete work projects in The Villages, FL

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
