Customers say: Terrific value
"If you want the best looking patio on your block then CD & Son Concrete Inc is who you need to call! We just recently had them pour our back patio and add concrete onto our driveway. From getting the quote to getting the work completed, the communication was top notch and very professional. The owner Dean walked me through every step and even made sure to lay wood down to protect our lawn! Dean also has the best concrete stamper around Chris! It was worth every penny for them to get this completed. Our kids and family love it already so much! The pictures of the patio says it all and they don't even give it justice the work that was put into it! I want to add that others have added concrete onto their driveways in my neighborhood, but ours is the only one that matches our driveway perfectly in color and texture! So I highly recommend them for all your concrete needs!"

"After calling around during winter I found Robert and he gave me a great quote along with stealer work. He was here when he said he was going to be and I could tell he cared about his work. Has a lot of experience and knows what he’s doing. He was professional, I highly recommend him to anyone needing concrete work."

"They were able to correct the concrete settlement eliminating trip points and areas where water was standing. This was an excellent alternative to replacing the concrete segments where the problem existed."

"I had the apron of my driveway and five sections of sidewalk replaced. They tore out the old concrete and cleaned all the debris and did a very nice job replacing all the concrete. They put back the sod that was removed and left the area looking very good. They communicated with me during the job to let me know what was being done. I would recommend them."

"The driveway is beautiful. Very smooth transition at curb and going into the garage.
We struggled with the decision to have asphalt vs. concrete. So happy we chose asphalt and this company to do the work.

"DuKate fine remodeling took my brick chimney down below the roof and rebuilt the chimney complete with a metal cap. They matched the mortar color perfectly to the color on my 1939 brick bungalow. Very professional and top quality work. I recommend them."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
