"Concrete Works LLC has completed multiple projects for my home in Corrales. They include placement of a reinforced parking pad for my RV, a concrete patio slab, a driveway, a parking area, a decorative block wall, and gravel placement. In each instance, I was provided a prompt estimate, the work was completed in a timely manner as proposed, and all areas were cleaned. I am very pleased to recommend this company."

"Mountain Side Contractors widened my driveway and installed a concrete patio in the backyard. They were professional, on-time, and provided quality work. The concrete pads that they installed are 4" thick with rebar, control joints, and expansion material along the edges at existing concrete. I enjoyed working with Mountain Side Contractors and would recommend them."

"I called Cocona Construction to get a quote on a concrete slab I need for my RV on 6/1/26 and Sergio Munoz and Angelica Munoz came to my home 6/4/26. I received a quote the same day. They answered all my questions and knew what I needed. I told them they got the job and they were at my house 6/8/26 8am sharp prepped the ground and told me the next day they would be there at 0630 am concrete truck was at 7am and they were there and on time. The whole process was amazing and Sergio showed me everything he was doing and showed me all the measurements. Sergio is a hard worker and takes great pride in his work. I recommend Cocona construction and will call them again"

"Good people. Hard working. They did a good job for us. The project was about 10,000 sq ft of stamped and colored concrete, a heated fiberglass pool with a hot tub, several raised flower beds. They took care of it all; permits, electrical, plumbing, electronics for pool control, tree removal, etc .. the started on time and finished faster than expected. Everything still works great. They came quickly on service calls when we had issues. I would recommend them. I would make sure to write in details the scope of work"

"They were great. Showed up on time each day. Showed me the work each day to make sure I was happy. And I was very impressed how efficient they were. The four areas they put concrete in could not be more beautiful. If I need more work done they will be my first call."

"Very pleased with work Gus did. He was involved with much of the work himself. Quick demolition, nice job on new patio. Came out several times to prepare concrete for sealing. Used 2 coats to seal slab. He will also be installing a patio cover for me in the next month."

"Dmitri and his crew are professionals! They got the job done with excellent quality and rapid completion times all at an affordable price. The concrete pour and landscaping look amazing and I’m always happy I chose AZR landscape and construction to do the job. I have some upcoming projects and AZR is who I will continue to hire for my services."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
