Customers say: Quality work

"James was a pleasure to deal with, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. We needed our concrete garage floor replaced, involving removal of old concrete and pouring new concrete. It turned out there was some water under the old floor (well under grade) so James added plastic sheeting under the new floor. Also pointed steps. He brought as many a 5 workers to the job, all appearing very competent. The work looks great. Would definitely recommend Rock Solid."

"We hired Moretti Landscaping and Masonry to remove an old gravel driveway which had old asphalt underneath. Frank came to the house, gave an estimate, and filed for the permit in my Village! That was a big help with permitting and documentation, etc.,. The project turned out great. The crew of workers was A+, really great guys and workers! They work fast, neat and professionally. I recommend Moretti Landscaping and Masonry based on my experience and project. 1"

"I needed to complete the concrete work before the weather was too cold. Since Alex was in demand I had to wait about 4 weeks before he could do the work. He kept me informed of the schedule and weather delays. He patiently explained what he needed to do to fix the cracks. We scaled back the work because the existing cement on the chimney only needed a patch vs a full replacement. When he left after almost completing the work, he left me a message with what needed to be completed down to straightening the chimney cover that I didn't even notice was crooked. When rain seeped in the garage he came the next day to help figure out where it was coming from and pointed out a hole in the garage trim that was letting water in. He promised to come back if the trim fix didn't solve the problem. I am extremely pleased with the work and time spent to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend him to others and use him for other work. I even got a Xmas message from Alex!"

"Antonio and team repaired a retaining wall in the outdoor stairwell to the basement, and built a fence with gate around it for safety. They also leveled my stone patio. The work was high quality and Antonio was extremely responsive. I got three quotes and theirs was most competitive, and they were available within a few days."

"Luis provided a quotation, excavated the ground around the wall, and replaced a portion of the concrete-block wall with a poured concrete wall. He was at all times diligent in his work, prompt in providing updates, and patient in addressing my questions."

"Project: remove old concrete driveway and install new asphalt driveway with retaining wall. Frank was very responsive, considerate and professional. He and his team did an excellent job in removing the old driveway and installing a new asphalt driveway with a retaining wall. Most important, Frank went above and beyond to meet the changes in our goals and expectations for the new driveway."

"We had a very tight schedule to dig and pour 8 footings and a concrete pad for a new deck. Jeff came through for us and had the footings dug quickly even though it was not easy digging. Because of the location of my septic tank and field, using heavy machinery was not an option. They worked around every obstruction including large rocks and drainage pipes while hand digging each of the footings. Jeff worked with my carpenter to ensure that the holes were exactly where they needed to be and was adaptable to making changes on the spot. Jeff and all his employees were courteous and a pleasure to talk to. We really appreciated how he worked with us on such short notice and that the quality of the work was great."

"I highly recommend RR Paving and Masonry. They did exceptional work on paving my patio. Very professional and excellent craftmanship work. Prices were reasonable. Once they completed the job they cleaned up and took away the excess trash. I could not wait to show off my new patio. FAQs for concrete work projects in Bedford Hills, NY

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
