"I had a DOT Violation and needed the sidewalk replaced.

I did my homework before I went with Luigi.  He wasn't the most expensive nor was he the cheapest.
His price was fair and he did the right thing.  He didn't try to take shortcuts or shortchange me.  I've seen my fair share of shady contractors in the past.

Luigi was there every step of the way.
He was courteous, professional and he took care of the work with pride.  It has been over 4.5 months since his work is completed.  My DOT violation has been dismissed and my concrete looks great.

I'm really happy that I chose him and will definitely look forward to hiring him for future concrete/masonry services.

"First they came to rip up a section of basement floor so we could add a bathroom. Richie worked around my plumbers schedule so it worked out perfectly. Then he came back to fill that basement floor and concrete my backyard. I had an existing piece of concrete that needed to be broken and removed and the yard had to be graded badly. Other contractors said it would take 2-4 days. Richie and his guys did it in 1 day. He came back the next day when the concrete was dry to clean up. I wasn't able to be there. I got home later that evening and noticed a few minor issues. I called Richie at 7pm to talk about it. He was at my house 20 minutes later to resolve anything he could right then. Then came back the next day again to make sure I was 100% satisfied. From the estimate to job completion, Richie was all class and nothing but professional. Very fair priced also. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Mr brickman."

"I recently had my concrete sidewalk repaired, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Bobby and his team were professional, courteous. The repaired sidewalk looks fantastic and blends seamlessly with the existing concrete. I truly appreciate their hard work and attention to detail. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of quality concrete repair. I will definitely call Bobby for my future concrete work."

"We hired JB to put in a short driveway and repair some broken concrete in front of our garage. It was a joint project with the next door neighbors, who also needed their bluestone sidewalk replaced with concrete in order to make a workable driveway. I asked if I could have the salvaged bluestone. JB took care of the city permits, and the workers were there at 8 AM, prying up bluestone and piling it neatly in my back yard. The driveway looks great."

"Stallion was able to work with our schedule and budget to tear up old, broken asphalt and pour a new concrete driveway. The team worked efficiently to create a beautiful new driveway. Whenever we had questions, Fahad would work to address them or provide background information. We would definitely use them again for a similar project."

"Muhammad completed some concrete work in my back yard. This was a 2 day project and he gave me a fair price. Bright Stone was accommodating with my time frame, arrived on-time, and provided professional care to my home. They also cleaned up afterwards and discarded of the trash."

"I worked with Kamran from Hi Tech Contracting to completely redo our front patio, staircase, and redo our entire walkway. They also power washed and resealed the front brick facade of our house. Working with Kamran has been an absolute pleasure - he's very responsive, offers good feedback and advice. When the team made a design decision that I was not happy with, and caught after the fact, Kamran very quickly rectified it and it was completely changed to my liking. The photos don't quite do it justice, as the concrete and sand is still setting. With that said I will not hesitate to reach out to Kamran for future work."

"DiDi and Anthony did a wonderful job. They were prompt, clean and neat, and always came when they said they would. They did a wonderful job repointing stones and also fixing an area of concrete. FAQs for concrete work projects in Queens, NY

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
