Get matched with top deck pros in Millbrae, CA

"They started each day at 8:00 AM and worked until 5:00 or later. They were very polite and professional. The lead person George would explain what they would be doing each day and then perform the tasks. The deck looks like it is brand new and the redwood has the original color and grain. Note: the bill included 4 hours of setting the deck screws so they could sand. Otherwise they performed to the bid."

"I had an absolutely amazing experience with Techwood Decks. Honestly, finding a company you can trust blindly these days is incredibly difficult, but they completely blew me away. From the initial planning to the final build, their team was professional, reliable, and highly skilled. They delivered exactly what they promised—if not better. If you’re looking to build a high-quality deck without any of the usual contractor headaches, Techwood Decks is the way to go. I couldn't be happier with the result!"

"We got a few estimates for a new custom deck and chose Bayside Builders Group because of their detailed breakdown. Our project manager, Dan, made sure everything stayed right on budget with zero hidden fees. He checked up on the progress constantly and kept the crew moving efficiently. The deck looks stunning and the structure is incredibly sturdy. Huge thanks to Dan for a job well done!"

"We hired Michael and his company, Northgate Development to repair an old deck in our backyard. It soon became obvious that the deck was not salvageable. After discussing it with Michael he gave us several options - replacing all the deck boards with redwood or with Trex deck boards. He was very patient in explaining the pros and cons of each option and the prices involved. In the end we decided to go with Trex. His installation of the deck with new supports and water proofing was beyond what I thought he would do. His employee Angel craftsmanship was excellent. When I identified a problem with one of the deck boards, he replaced it without problem. In the end, we spent more than we had budgeted but we are really happy with the results. If you need deck work, I recommend hiring Michael and his team."

"I’ve been working with Geico Builders for the past two years. Initially I’ve met Mila who helped us with our basement drainage issue resolved & built with best drainage solution. At the beginning of September this year Geico Builders started backyard renovation which is contains structural retaining wall about 220 lnf, pavers, composite deck Trex, staircase with beautiful fountain. They completed my backyard project in very short period of time comparison to the amount of work was need it done. Excellent crew & communication with in backyard project. Mila is amazing so much patience and attention to details. I recommend Geico Builders for all your remodeling needs truly is the best company I work so far."

"Pleasure to work with. Made clear of what actions and costs would be up front. Cleaned up the area daily as much as possible. Hardest group of workers ever. Project manager Ben kept in close contact throughout project. Ended up with a beautiful deck."

"The owner initially came to my home to assess the work I needed to have done. He is very knowledgeable about landscaping. The time he spent upfront was greatly appreciated as he fully understood to my landscaping needs. He had great ideas on how to replant a tree, recommend how to control grubs and how to properly care for specific plants. Once the project began the owner was no longer involved. In fact, I never saw him again. In addition to his landscaping services I had him give me a bid for painting my new fence and yard fence. The painting itself was very nicely done however, the worker(s) were careless and left several oil based paint spots damaging 15-20 of my brand new pavers. When I addressed this with The Owner he replied via email his worker(s) told him they didn’t do it. I provided pictures of the pavers as proof to substantiate my claim. The Owner had his lead come by our home to fix a sprinkler head that was covered during sod repair and to remove these stains. When I reached out to The Owner again he solely relied upon his lead who promptly told him the oil based paint stains were removed. The stains still remain, I’ve contacted my pavers company who clearly stated “oil based paint cannot be removed!” It became blatantly obvious the owner was siding with employee. In fact, The Owner not once has stepped foot on my property since he took the bid. He never came to oversee the project and all contact with him has been via email or text. Lastly, we were in agreement to plant a new tree. As of this review, I have never heard back and there was never any follow up as to when this would be done. I really had high hopes In the beginning and I am very disappointed in The Owner’s project management. He appears to be knowledgeable but my recommendation is that he needs to manage his team, stay closer to the project and make an attempt to do a final walk through. Lastly his hourly bill rate was inconsistent vs. negotiated. Hourly rate doubled for final day of painting which I regretfully paid."

"Subject: Outstanding Service by Leon’s Construction and Decking Trex To Angie’s List, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional service provided by Leon’s Construction and Decking Trex—specifically Moises Maldonado and his outstanding team. After a seriously disappointing experience with a contractor in Oakland (Hightower’s Construction) who failed to follow construction and engineering plans for my deck, I was understandably wary about finding someone I could trust to rebuild it. Enters Moises Maldonado, who not only restored my faith in the process, but also exceeded every expectation I had. Moises was patient and professional throughout the entire project. He guided me with patience , ensuring I was informed and confident in every decision. From purchasing materials and providing detailed receipts to making changes in designs and materials, Moises demonstrated expertise and commitment to excellence. Thanks to Moises and his team, my deck has been rebuilt to perfection, and I am beyond satisfied with the final result. Their craftsmanship, clear communication, and customer care made what could have been a stressful experience an absolute pleasure. I cannot recommend Leon’s Construction and Decking Trex highly enough, and I am especially grateful to Moises Maldonado for his incredible work. This company has earned my highest regards, and I encourage anyone seeking construction services to choose them without hesitation. Thank you again for a job well done! Sincerely, C. Clark"
