Since I am in my late 70?s, I?ve studied and worked in essentially every job imaginable concerning homes.  So I know the costs, labor and skills needed, and certainly can gauge the quality of finished work.  And as a retired Engineer, I tend to be picky ? want work done right.  In my experience, most contractors over-charge, then do the fastest, sloppiest work possible, then find excuses to ask for more money.  Anthony?s MakeReady was just the opposite.  I was VERY impressed and less worried when Anthony said he would ask for no money until the work is done and the customer is satisfied. He offered a very fair price, then did the entire job AND MORE, without even suggesting he should have charged more.   Anthony visited often to make sure everyone was supplied and happy.  When the job went into overtime, Anthony not only did not ask for more money (as most contractors would have done), but insisted on sticking to his promised price.  This man has the rare honesty and pride of workmanship that was once quite common 50 to 60 years ago.

His plaster and paint experts Joseph and Rene?, and his carpenter Frank, all did great jobs and had good attitudes.   Although it is against my obsessive nature, I found that I was able to step back and let them do their jobs.

Anthony?s painters Joseph and Rene didn?t ask or require any help by us, such as moving furniture or our own tools and supplies.  Contrary to many painters, they removed outlet and switch plates and taped over the electrical boxes to protect the box and wiring from texture or paint.  They patiently worked around me while I took down lights and fans.  They protected fixtures, appliances and floors with plastic sheeting.  They had a challenging job, particularly in matching the new texture of patches to the rest of the Orange-Peel textured ceilings, because my wife and I made the mistake of using semi-gloss on the ceiling.  When they were forced to pause the job, they voluntarily painted two closet folding doors (with Anthony?s permission).  Before leaving, they took extra effort to leave everything clean, even getting on the floor with a sponge.  

Carpenter Frank finished all of the outside jobs described previously.  Frank worked so fast that I was concerned about quality, but his decisions and workmanship were very good.  He even added concrete under the patio threshold, which was unsupported.  He finished everything in two days.  As a knowledgeable but inexperienced amateur, it would have taken me at least two weeks, about half of it dedicated to research, planning and preparation.

To say I am impressed with Anthony and his crew, is an understatement.  My wife and I have been working on this tenant-wrecked rental house for an embarrassingly long time.  For us, he and his crew are literally life-savers.   Today I asked him to consider doing considerable additional carpentry and painting on the outside of the house and two outbuildings.
