"Great.  He installed the one new light fixture and was able to fix the second light (loose connection).  On the third light/ceiling fan, he tested it and determined it was the actual light kit that was defective and said I would need to get a new one.  I was very pleased with his level of professionalism and impressed at how helpful he was.  He showed me how I could connect a new light kit when I finally get around to get a new one! 
He was a little late but called to let me know so that was not a problem -- there was good communication.
