"What a great experience and final product. Eddie and Simon were relentless in finding the perfect stones for the new retaining wall and front steps. Installation was done beautifully and with a masterful eye. They also installed the new railing on the steps, which came out beautifully, too. "I can't say enough good things about Rodolfo Galo, owner of Daddy and Junior Paint, Inc. We own and occupy a two family house, and last month our long term tenant gave us just over 30 days notice that she would be leaving at the end of August. After so many years, the apartment needed quite a bit of work, especially one bathroom with extensive plaster damage, and we had a small window of time in which to get the job done, right around September 1st, when so many other apartments in the area are turning over, and contractors are hard to find. We called several plasterers and painters, but the only one who called us back and followed up was Rodolfo, who returned my call within minutes and came to give us an estimate within a few days, on a Saturday. He spent nearly an hour with us, provided us with a quote on the spot, and explained the history of his business and how he works. We felt immediately comfortable with him and so fortunate that he would be able to do the job within our tight timeline, at a price we believed to be very reasonable. Over the next few weeks, Rodolfo lived up to our initial impression: he responded quickly to our calls and emails, mapped out a schedule for when he would come in to do various aspects of the job, and completed the work exactly as he said he would. He also did two small carpentry jobs that we hadn't anticipated (building a soffit around a bathroom exhaust fan duct and a frame for a wall air conditioner) and brought in a cleaning crew who worked for 4 hours on a Saturday after he finished painting, leaving the apartment beautifully clean and ready for new tenants. He did not charge us extra for these services. In addition to being completely reliable and so pleasant to work with, Rodolfo takes tremendous pride in his work. Although he only had a few days to complete the entire job, he did not cut any corners, and his paint job was perfect. He had one assistant (Jose, who was also very nice), but Rodolfo did the majority of the work on his own. He really appeared to be more invested in doing a high quality job and making us happy than in making money. We were so impressed by his kindness and professionalism. We will definitely use Rodolfo again, and we recommend him to anyone who needs plastering, painting, and small carpentry jobs."

"I purchased an angles list deal- electrician for the day (8hrs for 1, or 2hrs for 2 workers) for $599. Steve called me to schedule an appointment quickly and we discussed what the job would be. Steve and his son arrived right on time and got right to work. They took down total 15 light fixtures and replaced with 8 interior light fixtures and 7 outdoors. It was a bit chilly out and they worked right through it. As far as the work, they are very fast and did an adequate job, I give an A for that. They finished all 15 fixtures in 2 hrs and even disconnected an old non working alarm system from the wall and capped dishwasher wires within that time frame. Since we still had 2 hrs left, I asked if he could move an outlet a few feet up to counter height. Steve said thats not within the angielist deal. Pretty much all the lights in my house have been changed other than the recessed lighting, ceiling fans and bath light fans- which are also NOT included in the deal. I am a little disappointed that nothing else could be done. I wouldn't have purchased this deal. 600 bucks for total 4 hrs work to change light fixtures seems a bit high, and for that reason I am bummed that the other 4 hrs of work went wasted. For that, I give a B. So unless, you have a huge house with 30 standard light fixtures to swap, I wouldn't recommend this deal. better off hiring someone by hour."
