"Peter did a professional job installing a new chimney cap for my wood burning fireplace. He was very knowledgeable and explained all my options. He even cleaned the existing rust stains on my roof around the chimney at no adagial charge. I would definitely recommend him to others.."

"Shamrock Maintenance Corp. did an excellent job cleaning and inspecting our wood burning stove. The technician arrived on time, was professional, and explained everything clearly before starting the work. They made sure the area was protected and left everything clean once the job was completed. I appreciated how thorough the inspection was and the time they took to answer our questions. It’s hard to find reliable service these days, but they definitely delivered. Highly recommend."

"Mr. Messina and his crew are true artists, professionals, and craftsmen. The fireplace in our living room was "crafted" in the mid-1970s. It was poorly done, and it was hideous. Mr. Messina and his crew were professional and honest from the very first phone call to the last bit of clean-up after the project. They worked meticulously and it was a true joy to have them update our living room with their gorgeous work! You HAVE to hire them! Their prices are fair. The work is outstanding. We'd love to hire them again for masonry work on the front of our home."
Some cities, like New York City, ban wood-burning fireplaces altogether. In places like Colorado and the California Bay Area, laws dictate when you can use your wood-burning fireplace based on air quality. Since regulations vary by location, it's best to consult a local contractor familiar with your area's laws. You can also check the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) website for state ordinances and regulations.
Yes, you can add a fireplace to your existing home, but it requires careful planning and professional evaluation. You'll need to construct a safe chimney, ensure proper ventilation, and comply with local building codes and HOA regulations. This project involves significant structural modifications and specialized labor, so hiring a qualified fireplace contractor is essential to ensure safety and code compliance.
Fireplaces enhance a home's value because they create a warm and inviting atmosphere while adding a distinctive architectural feature. A fireplace not only elevates a residence’s appeal but also contributes to greater market value. Industry research confirms that homes with fireplaces command higher sale prices, and homeowners benefit from an improved living environment.
Yes, installing a fireplace increases your home insurance costs because it raises the risk of fire and may require additional coverage. A fireplace demands dedicated safety inspections and documented maintenance, and insurers enforce stricter requirements, which drive higher premiums. Homeowners must consult their insurance providers and adhere to regular inspection schedules to manage these increased costs.
