"Most of the chimney companies we got estimates from recommended grind and tuckpoint so we opted to have that done as well to get rid of growth between the bricks and bring back some life. Once our appointment day arrived to have the work done Wayne showed up on time (actually about 15 minutes early) and let us know our job should be done around lunchtime which was about half the time we were expecting based on the time estimate we had from the office staff who does the scheduling. It worked out well that I could run home from work during lunch to tie things up and pay the balance for the work. I haven't been up on the roof to check out the work but can get a pretty good view from the top of our deck and chimney looks great."

"Super friendly and professional, I figured I would finally get my chimney inspected and cleaned. The next time power goes out, I will at least have that as an option. I've never had a wood burning fireplace before, so Nancy gave me helpful tips and information for maintenance. The appointment takes less than an hour and he keeps the area really clean."

"Eagle and Sons did a fantastic job with our new gas fireplace...we are so pleased! Very courteous and professional father and sons team. When the fireplace screen came out of the box with a small hole in it from shipping... Hunter arranged to have a replacement delivered and stayed until 8PM so that he could finish the job same day. Excellent pipe and electrical work... neat and professional. They came back the following week at no charge to install an additional valve for easier access... their suggestion not mine. We will hire these guys to replace our gas furnace and add air conditioning when it's time to do that in a year or so. Highly recommend."

"The job required building two retaining walls one above the other with the slope of the upper wall matching the adjoining cement wall. They removed some large roots from a nearby tree which had damaged the wood wall so that the new wall could be built. The job took 3 days which is what Ryan estimated. The work was first rate and we are very happy with the result. Ryan was able to make suggestions that helped me make decisions on what made the most sense for our job. The work team was terrific to work with and very professional. I have already recommended them to my neighbors.

"He came out to see why the fireplace was smoking and showed up the best way to prevent it. We initially thought there was build up in the chimney, which is why we called. He explained how to get rid of the smoke and was very respectful and pleasant. Also, when he had to cancel because of the snow storm, he made sure to call ahead. He was very punctual."

"This job was handled meticulously by Jake and his team. They communicated well before, during and after the job and made sure the materials were exactly as we wanted. There were a number of last minute design changes and Jake and his son helped us through all of them without adding cost or delaying the schedule....fantastic team...I will have them back to do another larger fireplace as soon as we can....great guy and extremely trustworthy...what all contractors should be...we have had problems with others in the past so believe me, there is hope out there when you work with guys like Jake, Josh and Ryan."
Start with a professional inspection. If damage is limited to a few bricks or the crown, a targeted repair helps keep costs and disruption to a minimum. Severe leaning, widespread mortar failure, or major fire damage usually signals it’s time for a complete teardown and rebuild. Your contractor will outline both price tags, but remember that rebuilding a failing stack is often cheaper than repeated patch jobs and the water leaks or fire hazards they allow.
Cracks provide water with an easy path into the masonry, weakening the bricks and mortar and increasing the risk of collapse or fire. Gaps can also let hot gases and sparks escape into attic spaces. Call a chimney pro as soon as you see cracking so they can seal small joints or recommend a larger rebuild before minor damage turns into a costly emergency.
Smoke rolling back into the room often indicates a blocked flue, a broken damper, or a drafting issue. Have a sweep inspect the damper, flue liner, and any obstructions right away. Most fixes involve clearing debris, repairing the liner, or adjusting the damper so the fireplace pulls air correctly. Don’t light another fire until a professional pinpoints the cause and confirms your system is venting safely.
Most policies cover chimney repairs caused by a sudden, covered event, such as lightning, a fallen tree, or a house fire. They won’t cover damage that stems from neglected maintenance or everyday wear. Review your policy or contact your agent before scheduling work to determine what documentation your insurer requires and what costs you will be responsible for.
Component life spans vary. Clay tile or cast-in-place liners last close to 50 years, while stainless-steel liners last 15 to 20 years. Mortar requires attention every 25 to 30 years, while crowns last 50 to 75 years. Use these numbers as a maintenance roadmap: schedule regular inspections, budget for future upgrades, and replace parts before age-related cracks develop into more significant problems.
