"Bo's electric was superior in every way. Steve, the owner, is hands-on and knowledgeable about all facets of this high-end work. He sold us the perfect generator and informed us every step of the way about the process. We enjoy working with family-owned businesses where the owners take great pride in the work product and customer care. The other advantage was 100% access to the office personnel, Katie and Pam, who answered all of our questions. They were amazing! We are so pleased with Bo's that we are having them install a driveway fence. This is one of the best, if not the best, companies we've had the pleasure of working with. Five-plus stars!"

"We had an excellent roofer out of Naples Florida. They were out of this world. We sprung a leak down at one of our very expensive house down in Naples Florida, and It was doing damage. They fixed it and it wasn’t quite fixed. They sent somebody out immediately. They were just wonderful. They came out so quickly in the first place, but they were really with it. They repaired 2 areas that were kind of difficult. I can not explain how complicated this roof is. It has these big, heavy, cement tiles that are supposed to look like terracotta. It’s not just an asphalt shingle roof or some simple thing. They had to take these big, heavy blocks off the roof and repair two or three places. They were really, really great. I’m so pleased with them. Definitely, the top score they could have. We got a price from the people who put the roof on and these people were very, very reasonable, compared to the original roofer. We had used the original roofer to make repairs before because we thought, well, they know about the product, they would be the best person, but it leaked again, after they fixed it, so we went away from them. These people were great. They were great. I’m assuming, that the repair will hold. There was a guy (a painter) that was getting ready to work and he cut some sheet rock out of the ceiling out of one of our most spectacular, beautiful bedrooms and we weren’t going to be able to use it. This guy (the roofer) worked with the painter, and between them, they worked and got the whole thing done. I got an e-mail, I got messages back, they were great, they were wonderful. They came exactly on time. Their guy that did the estimating and looked at it was very intelligent. Some roofers, that’s an industry that can have a lot of variation but I was thrilled with them. I hope I don’t have to use them again, but if I do have to, I will use them again."

"Luis and his crew did a good job patching my stucco and hanging, finishing and painting drywall. There were a few problem areas in the drywall finish, but the guys came tight back and made it right."

Start with a professional inspection. If damage is limited to a few bricks or the crown, a targeted repair helps keep costs and disruption to a minimum. Severe leaning, widespread mortar failure, or major fire damage usually signals it’s time for a complete teardown and rebuild. Your contractor will outline both price tags, but remember that rebuilding a failing stack is often cheaper than repeated patch jobs and the water leaks or fire hazards they allow.
Cracks provide water with an easy path into the masonry, weakening the bricks and mortar and increasing the risk of collapse or fire. Gaps can also let hot gases and sparks escape into attic spaces. Call a chimney pro as soon as you see cracking so they can seal small joints or recommend a larger rebuild before minor damage turns into a costly emergency.
Smoke rolling back into the room often indicates a blocked flue, a broken damper, or a drafting issue. Have a sweep inspect the damper, flue liner, and any obstructions right away. Most fixes involve clearing debris, repairing the liner, or adjusting the damper so the fireplace pulls air correctly. Don’t light another fire until a professional pinpoints the cause and confirms your system is venting safely.
Most policies cover chimney repairs caused by a sudden, covered event, such as lightning, a fallen tree, or a house fire. They won’t cover damage that stems from neglected maintenance or everyday wear. Review your policy or contact your agent before scheduling work to determine what documentation your insurer requires and what costs you will be responsible for.
Component life spans vary. Clay tile or cast-in-place liners last close to 50 years, while stainless-steel liners last 15 to 20 years. Mortar requires attention every 25 to 30 years, while crowns last 50 to 75 years. Use these numbers as a maintenance roadmap: schedule regular inspections, budget for future upgrades, and replace parts before age-related cracks develop into more significant problems.
