"The work was demolishing my old deteriorating chimney and fireplace and building a whole new system. From contacting the office manager, having the inspection and quotes, to completion I had an excellent experience with this company. The crew got the job done efficiently, were polite, friendly, professional and willing to answer my questions throughout, they cleaned up after themselves, left me some nice old bricks at my request, and the chimney is gorgeous. It now has some wrapping at the top while that is curing; I will post a photo after it's visible in all its glory. :)"

"Eagle and Sons did a fantastic job with our new gas fireplace...we are so pleased! Very courteous and professional father and sons team. When the fireplace screen came out of the box with a small hole in it from shipping... Hunter arranged to have a replacement delivered and stayed until 8PM so that he could finish the job same day. Excellent pipe and electrical work... neat and professional. They came back the following week at no charge to install an additional valve for easier access... their suggestion not mine. We will hire these guys to replace our gas furnace and add air conditioning when it's time to do that in a year or so. Highly recommend."

"Our gas fireplace (original to the home in 2001) started having a squealing noise when the blower was turned on. For a while, it only lasted a couple minutes, but then it started happening all the time - making the fireplace unusable! So I researched on YELP, looking for a company that would service fireplace inserts. The first place I called had a ton of great reviews, but they couldn't get out to the house for a MONTH!! Way too long to be without our fireplace!! So next I tried Hamblen & Sons.
Tim Hamblen is the father - and handled my questions over the phone. He is very a chatty guy - lots of humor...maybe a touch more joking than would be ideal - but he was a nice guy. Due to the age of the blower unit, it would be a special order. He provided a rough quote (based on another order he placed recently) of $450 or so and we decided to move forward with the process. He called a week later (or so) and scheduled to come out the next day to install.
The Hamblen son, Drew, was the installer - and was super professional and personable. He was great with my 1 1/2 yr old son watching his every move. He installed the new blower and proceeded to clean the glass (we could never get it clean) and gave me the name of the cleaner he uses (I have since ordered it on Amazon!). He also cleaned and tested the rest of the fireplace to make sure everything else was functioning correctly.
He gave me the final bill and it was under $400!! What a nice surprise!! We were prepared for close to $500 and it actually came to a little over $375 (including tax, etc). He also asked about our water heater as the cost will be going up soon - do to new "features" - and he wanted to make sure if we needed one, we got on it soon to avoid the price increase.
I really liked working with this company and would recommend for sure. We didn't really shop around much - time to be on the phone is hard to come by with little ones running around. But we felt very comfortable paying what we did for the value we get out of our fireplace in not needing to have the entire house heated!!
Thanks, Hamblen & Sons Heating!! We are warm & toasty in our family room!

"We contacted Nathan at A-Clean Chimney & Contracting LLC with an urgent request to move our wood burning stove away from the wall as we had been notified by our homeowners insurance company that they were cancelling our coverage if we did not move the stove. Nathan was super responsive, got back to us right away and got us on his schedule asap. He was very organized and communicative, confirming our appointment and arriving during the window he originally gave us. He was able to quickly assess what needed to be done, make a few suggestions as to a few things we could do to increase the efficiency of the stove and gave us a fair estimate. He was able to complete the work on the same day (even though he had to go get the materials, which we knew would be the case beforehand), but he had reserved that day for us which was really great and we were really happy to be able to get everything completed on the same day. Thanks, Nathan! We'll definitely be calling you in the future for all of our wood burning stove and fireplace maintenance needs!"

Start with a professional inspection. If damage is limited to a few bricks or the crown, a targeted repair helps keep costs and disruption to a minimum. Severe leaning, widespread mortar failure, or major fire damage usually signals it’s time for a complete teardown and rebuild. Your contractor will outline both price tags, but remember that rebuilding a failing stack is often cheaper than repeated patch jobs and the water leaks or fire hazards they allow.
Cracks provide water with an easy path into the masonry, weakening the bricks and mortar and increasing the risk of collapse or fire. Gaps can also let hot gases and sparks escape into attic spaces. Call a chimney pro as soon as you see cracking so they can seal small joints or recommend a larger rebuild before minor damage turns into a costly emergency.
Smoke rolling back into the room often indicates a blocked flue, a broken damper, or a drafting issue. Have a sweep inspect the damper, flue liner, and any obstructions right away. Most fixes involve clearing debris, repairing the liner, or adjusting the damper so the fireplace pulls air correctly. Don’t light another fire until a professional pinpoints the cause and confirms your system is venting safely.
Most policies cover chimney repairs caused by a sudden, covered event, such as lightning, a fallen tree, or a house fire. They won’t cover damage that stems from neglected maintenance or everyday wear. Review your policy or contact your agent before scheduling work to determine what documentation your insurer requires and what costs you will be responsible for.
Component life spans vary. Clay tile or cast-in-place liners last close to 50 years, while stainless-steel liners last 15 to 20 years. Mortar requires attention every 25 to 30 years, while crowns last 50 to 75 years. Use these numbers as a maintenance roadmap: schedule regular inspections, budget for future upgrades, and replace parts before age-related cracks develop into more significant problems.
