Comment: Just thinking about building on sloping lots. I will not say what lots, because I have had people swoop in and steal lots from me that I was working on negotiations to buy after doing lots and lots of research to determine if a profit could be made . . . Anyway, I need to have an idea of the cost of having an outside contractor (i.e. a sub) build retaining walls and foundation pads for residential construction on sloping lots. I want to bring my building costs in at about $130/ sq. ft. This is actually higher than I would like to pay for residential construction, but I am thinking of the sloping lot. And if you were wondering what I mean about a sloping lot, think of a lot that is 10 ft. higher at one end than the other, and will require a 4 ft. cut and retaining wall on one end, and a 4 ft. wall and fill on the other end, and a foundation in the middle.
