Comment: We are having excessive rain this spring and I am having water issues in my basement more unusual than normal. My house is 100 years old and there is sometimes seepage but there seems to be more water issues this year. I would like to figure out how to keep the water at a minimum. I would also like to look at getting the basement dried out and see if there is a way to seal the walls. They look like there were painted with a heavy coat of something by prior owners. I don't know if it was some sort of water sealant paint.

Comment: i just need to find an affordable/within budget way to ensure that my basement doesn't continue to seep; or weep water in from the walls. I believe it to be due less to a foundational issue, and more to an issue with the landscaping around the two wall faces in the basement that the water is seeping in from. The basement has never flooded and i have an electronic sump pump, but would like to get a professional's opinion on how to do it. The corner where the water is coming into the basement are where the French drains are located. We also had a deck installed about two years ago in that area.
