"I purchased an deal for $99 for 2 hours of labor.  Originally I intended to apply the time toward replacement of a shower faucet, but the same week, three gate valves in my basement began to fail.  Lew was very responsive and able to accommodate my schedule, and replaced all three valves with ball valves as well as the piping in the area.  I purchased an additional $150 worth of parts from Lew which are warrantied for a year.
What I appreciated most was Lew's evaluation of the shower faucet, which he looked at while he was at my house.  He pointed out that the faucet that I had purchased would not meet my long-term needs and made recommendations so that I could purchase (on my own) a model that would be better for me.  He also gave a very rough quote for the labor that would be required.  Lew could have just installed the faucet I purchased and waited until it failed in another year and installed another one and made twice as much money, but he didn't.  I'll certainly have him back again.

"Marino's Water Works was great on a crazy snowy Saturday afternoon (3 feet of snow on the ground, more coming down) when our water pump stopped working. Answered our call immediately, arrived at our house within an hour, fixed the problem (a lightning strike had incapacitated the pump, requiring soldering wires and then flipping the circuit breakers). What a relief! Getting out of our driveway proved a terrible challenge -- ice and snow on a sloping curve -- but we figured it out together with a tremendous amount of good humor and calm. "We had some water coming into our basement on rainy days. We attempted to fix the issue ourselves and quickly realized we were in over our heads. At this point we were tired of our stuff getting damaged, and cleaning up the watery mess. We called some contractors and received various quotes. We then turned to Angie's list in hopes of finding someone qualified at a much more reasonable price. We found Mr. Black Contracting and setup a time for him to check out our basement. He showed up on time, was very knowledgeable and was able to spot the problem even before we pointed it out to him. This surprised us as no other contractor was able to do that. We accepted his proposal and the work was completed quickly, efficiently and at a fair price. We work from home and are frequently on conference calls, so we were a bit worried about the repair noise being overwhelming. To our surprise the noise was kept to a minimum, and we were able to work with no interruptions. He was very clean and gave us many different options to stop the water from coming in. I will use them in the future and recommend them to anyone that needs repairs done."
