"Backyard Ponds is magic. I have a small backyard pond,stream and waterfall that have been
leaking for years. Various workmen had poured concrete into it, slathered mortar
between stones and sprayed special waterfall foam all over the sides of it. My
pond, stream and waterfall continued to leak. Hilary of Backyard Ponds looked at it for a while, moved one
stone and fixed the leak. How did you do that! I yelled. Well after you work on
enough of these things you get an eye for what the problem could be. Then she
vacuumed all the mud that had been clogging the pum , reattached the waterline
and pump that I could never get to stay together, restacked the rocks along the
edge of the stream so they actually sat on top of each other instead of sliding
down at all angles, and added a few strategically placed rocks to hide the pump
and waterline and cover the rubber sides of the stream. She added a regulator to
the water line so I could make the water run fast and slow. And more. I have had
a pond and stream for fifteen years, and many people have worked on it, from
expensive professioanl landscapers to guys I would swear the contractor picked
up off the street corner. The difference in using someone who specializes in
ponds is stunning. Backyard ponds is

We contacted Mark King, the owner, and described the work we would like done and sent him pictures of our garden pond. "This project could have been the type to cause months of stress and frustration with any other contractor, but Christian and the folks at 5th Gen made sure it didn't. We had the floor of an entire room ripped up because of water damage, including the structure down to the dirt and part of the wall. Their estimate was thorough and their pricing was very fair, especially given the level of service. They were always timely, attentive, and professional, and somehow kept the work space very clean. "We were very happy with General Remodeling Group's quality of work, pricing, and communication. From the start, Vidas (the general contractor who led our basement remodel and stairs replacement) was communicative and very transparent about what would work best, look best, and the timeline for the project. We have a child too, and he was willing to work around our schedule so that it never felt like we were going through a huge remodel (even though we were). All the guys on his team were great and very professional. They cleaned the work site every day, and kept everything tidy. They were conscious to keep drywall dust out of the rest of the house, and keep the work-site safe and accessible too. We were able to see the progress everyday! Vidas and his team really were a "one-stop shop". They completed all the plans for the remodel, took out all the necessary permits, and scheduled follow up on all the inspections/permit close outs. They gave us a schedule as to when things would be completed, and a pay schedule accompanied that. They were also very transparent with that pay schedule, saying what was included, and what was not. There were times when we opted for an improvement or item that was not in our contract, and we, of course, paid extra for it. But there were also times when their team did not spend the full allowance on a certain item or improvement, and they gave us credit back (this was refreshing, as I imagine not many other contractors would be so clear about their pricing)! Not only was the pricing and communication great, the final result was too. They had VERY SKILLED professionals for each job - carpentry, framing, drywall, plumbing, electrical, hardwood flooring - each task had an expert. They shared their thoughts, and often gave us options we didn't know we had in our remodel. They always shared what they would do, before they did it, especially if it wasn't in the original plans. The quality of work was excellent. We are very satisfied with our new basement and stairs, highly recommend General Remodeling Group, and will certainly use them again!"

"Plumber they scheduled was on time, in identifying uniform, professional and did a great job. I was hoping a bigger issue didn't exist as the sink was backing up/ not draining water for several weeks. He also had the correct replacement part in his marked truck. Scheduling was efficient and faster than expected. Just thought the price was rather high for the work being asked done. I asked for the free estimate, and discovered price lists are established by company only once the plumber was onsite. Unfortunately, trying to get anyone else's opinion on such a small job was proving difficult because the risk of not doing the work once on site is not something that many will bother with doing in person.

"Brian and Cindy are a 1-2 punch that literally had me jumping for joy.  I was incredibly nervous about re-doing our entire front yard in one large project with a company I had never hired before.  They were recommended by a neighbor who has used them over the last five years on two separate houses, so I had some knowledge of their final product, but I was absolutely thrilled with the results and surprised by how easy they made the whole process from beginning to end.  I'm a project manager for a living, so I have a tendency to be a "tough customer."  Beyond the impeccable customer service: multiple site visits, phone calls, texts, drawings, and both being on-site and hands-on during the actual installation, their prices beat out 4 (highly reputable) local competitors.    I never felt nickle-and-dimed.  In fact, quite the opposite.  They made last-minute adjustments when I made special requests at no additional charge.  He even treated my lawn and cut my grass when our normal maintenance folks didn't show up (needless to say, I'm now exploring a maintenance contract with Salt Creek Gardens).  In less than a week, several neighbors have stopped by to ask who did the work, and despite torrential downpours, the french drain is keeping the lawn from having its usual pools of standing water.  Brian was able to work with a long-time associate to negotiate a better deal for me on some large tree removal.  Between the tree removal, solving my water problem, designing and installing 3 new beds, and re-gravling my front, Salt Creek Gardens ended up being the perfect one-stop-shop for all my landscaping needs.  I definitely will use them again when it comes time to re-pave my front walk and re-do the back yard.
