"Travis Hovis called me very shortly after I posted the job. I explained the problem, one of the Door springs broke and was laying on the garage floor. After asking several questions, he told me he had the parts on his truck and could come in about hour to fix the problem. I asked him if he could replace just the one broken and not the other. He explained why Not to do that, mainly safety. He replaced everything, both springs, cables, pulleys, eye bolts,S hooks. Took his time the adjust both sides so that it worked smoothly and evenly. He was done in about 1 1/2 hours. To show how committed he is to his work, he showed me that the set of springs, white 110 lbs, where Not the same. The factory made an error and sent one 110 lbs and one 120 lbs. He apologized for the inconvenience. Said he had to get a new correct set tomorrow morning first thing and would return around 10:00 am. He text me when he was 1/2 hour out. Took about 15 minutes to install and adjust both sides."

Small jobs welcome
"Excellent communication, timeliness of project, and quality of work was wonderful. R&R built us a 16x16 deck with wire spindles on a slope in the woods. Challenging terrain, but they handled it like professionals and moved fast to complete the job early. They also built us a secondary portable porch as an addition to an existing porch. It is exacting what we wanted and couldnâ t be happier with the workmanship. Thanks Phil and Zack! Highly recommend R&R Outdoor for any of your needs."

I’m an old-fashioned, affordable, honest handyman. I am very versatile. \n\nI have worked in construction for over 25 years. I have extensive experience in drywall repair, trim and carpentry work, electronic containment fences and custom pet doors (I can put one anywhere- glass door, window, wall, etc). \n\nThere’s absolutely no job that I won’t at least take a look at and give my honest opinion. No job is too small. No job is too odd. I can do light car maintenance or complex home repairs. Clean-up or Custom work. Just ask! \n\nFlexible hours. Weekends available.

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
