"Had my garage break over the weekend while my husband was out of town. I called on a Saturday night and they answered! They arranged to have someone out on Monday. I was able to open my door by hand in between those days. I didn't even have to worry my husband about it! Isaac came out and fixed it quickly. Then he explained all that he did. I later got an email that detailed everything with pictures. I also go a discount for being a customer already. We will definitely be continuing business with One Clear Choice!"

"They have an extremely fast contact, estimate and installation rate. They came out the day I was looking for information on them installing a garage door. They gave a great price for installation and included trim, a tune up for a different garage door and a warranty. Very friendly and professional."

"He was very polite and was willing to spend extra time adjusting the various parts of the garage door to make it operate well. I received a call from him shortly after filling out the Home Advisor form, and he was able to come to our house that morning. Will definitely keep his info for the next time we need garage door service."

FAQs for garage and garage door service projects in Brighton, CO

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.

Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.

A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.

Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.

A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.

Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.

If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
