"My garage door opener aged out. I solicited proposals from the first four companies provided by Angi/Home Advisor. All four responded quickly with written proposals I chose Doors and More based on price and how Mr. Blackwell approached the project: He stuck to solving the immediate problem, offered to start immediately, offered a good product at a good price. He was personable and responded quickly and clearly to all communications. He arrived to do the job as agreed. The entire process, from Angi/Home Advisor website through a functioning garage door went smoothly and painlessly -- overall good experience. Thanks to all."

"24 Hr Garage Door service is very customer oriented and well versed in the product they are providing service for. I called around to correct a minor dent and several other companies upcharged me to close to replacing whole new garage door, however 24 Hr Garage Door price was reasonable and within my price range. They broke down my options of cost to include the type of door I had that they usually have in stock. I would recommend to potential customers and will definitely use them again."

"Clark called me back while I was still ON THE WEBSITE! I was expecting to have to schedule a day later this week, in fact I was working on the scheduling when he called, but he had someone out three hours later! Incredible customer service! The technician was a super guy and worked quickly. He even gave me some tips for good maintenance practices. I had no idea what to expect, and the price I paid was more than fair. Overall a great experience!"

"They did a reasonably neat job leaving a few small pieces of insulation under my home and a couple of wire supports in the grass/dirt in front of the access door. The installers came at the appointed in the morning and finished in the early afternoon."

"Excellent service from start to finish! The technician arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the issue with my garage door, and explained everything clearly before starting the repair. The work was completed efficiently, the price was fair, and the garage door now works perfectly. The technician was friendly, professional, and left the area clean when the job was finished. "Justin completely transformed a rental property that was destroyed into a highly marketable home. He was thorough and ensured every inch of the interior and exterior was primed and painted. He is reliable, trustworthy, professional and communicative. Highly recommended!"
Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
