"BJ and his crew were amazing. When my garage door stopped working a few days before Thanksgiving. BJ was the first one that reached out and seemed like the obvious choice. My garage door has never seemed to work right even when it was brand new. It always seemed clunky and noisy. I was always expecting it to come off the rails. He explained the modifications they could make to my existing equipment to make it work better and I could avoid the cost of a new garage door. After starting the work, they discovered several items that were installed incorrectly from the very beginning (even though the door was installed by a professional garage door company) and I'm lucky the door has lasted as long as it has. My garage door acts like a brand new door. I don't see daylight around the edges, it closes completely to the ground, and it is so quiet. I highly recommend Sunrise Garage Door Company for all your garage door needs. Excellent service!"

"I had such a great experience with Access! They upgraded my garage door with the myQ system and I’m honestly obsessed. It’s super convenient being able to open, close, and check on my garage right from my phone. The whole process was quick, the team was professional, and the upgrade has made my life so much easier. Highly recommend!"

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
