"The garage door expert arrived on time. He was polite, courteous and professional. He inspected the garage door, springs, cables and hardware, and pointed out how the existing springs were insufficient causing the garage door opener to overwork and advised me on all necessary repairs. He replaced what was needed and recalibrated the garage door opener to adjust for the new springs. The garage door now works seamlessly and much quieter than before. Next year will have Precision install a new insulated steel door and will request the same technician."

"Super pleased with my experience. I needed an automatic garage door opener installed on a manual garage door. Max the electrician came the night before and put in an outlet near the ceiling for a very reasonable price. Cliff came on time the next afternoon and set to work. My garage is detached and old, and the door itself, although new, had been installed poorly. He fixed that and tightened the tension rod, and then began the installation process only to discover that a wood beam in the garage was so low it would be impossible to continue. He discussed the problem with me, and I decided I wanted to remove the beam. I was amazed that he immediately agreed to do it for me. Then he installed the opener and finally he spent a good deal of time helping me set up my phone so that I can open the door using an app. He asked me where I wanted the keypad mounted before installing that, which was great because I want my kids to be able to reach it so they can get bikes out. Both Max the electrician and Cliff the installer are extremely good at what they do and speaking with them I knew I could trust them to do it right. The work they did is excellent, and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend this company."

"I went with cabinets all the way up to the ceiling in the garage - while this provides a ton of storage , I found the shelves way too heavy to adjust myself ."

"Andrew from Grand Enterprises did an excellent job in repairing the garage door. We are completely satisfied."
Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
