"Very satisfied with the job that was performed. Tech arrived about an hour before schedule, but called when he was about 30 minutes away, so we were ready for him. He walked in the garage and immediately saw the problem; broken spring. He was very nice and professional. Fixed the problem; replaced both springs. I was really appreciative that they were able to respond the day following my call. The price for the service may have been somewhat high, but I was happy to pay it in order to get the door fixed so quickly."

"Once I entered information of what I needed done Adam responded immediately. He was able to have someone come out the same day to see what needed to be done with my garage door. I was updated on times when someone would arrive. Sam called when he was on his way. He was very informative about what would be done & was also able to give me pricing. Sam would be able to install the new garage doors that week. The doors are perfect & we love them. I would highly recommend Wisconsin Garage Door Pro you wonâ t be disappointed!"

"Mike and Tyler did multiple concrete pours for me this summer including a slab for a new garage. Very happy with the work they did and will be having them do more in the future"

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
