"Sampson did a wonderful job. He replaced all of my interior doors with solid wood doors and frames. He also replaced my tool shed door outside. He worked with me to see what the best option would be for my house as well as handles and type of trim I would need to fit properly. He walked me through what he was going to do. He went and got all of the supplies, including the paint and brushes. He even painted my doors to the color I picked out from his samples. He did a phenomenal job and I felt comfortable with him working in my home. I would recommend him for any job, and plan to hire him in the future as well. He is a skilled craftsman, learns quickly and adapts to any circumstance."

"They arrived every day promptly at the time agreed on. Discussed with me any questions they had instead of just going ahead with something. Michael even changed a light bulb for me. Stuck to original estimate until I added a couple of doors which I knew would increase it a little bit. Bottom line - I am very happy with their work and the cost was well within what I had planned. I will use them again for future jobs."

"I explained what type of screen door that we wanted, but, no exact details knowing he would get what was best for our needs. He did exactly that! He chose the perfect door and accessories. The work was completed in a matter of a few hours. Couldn't be more pleased with the outcome!"

FAQs for garage and garage door service projects in Princeton, IN

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.

Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.

A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.

Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.

A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.

Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.

If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
