"Our garage door spring broke yesterday afternoon. The Annapolis Garage Door crew arrived exactly when they said they would this morning to replace our broken spring(s). They even performed an inspection of the whole garage door system which included the lubrication of all necessary parts. They were in and out in no time at all. Our garage door is working great and is much quieter than it was before. Thank you Annapolis Garage Door for your prompt professional service, it’s been a pleasure conducting business with you and your crew."

"Gilmer is outstanding. He provides best customer service and gets the job done in a timely manner. We called him for an issue with our garage door and he immediately got back to us and showed up the next day, which was a Sunday. He is professional, extremely hardworking, and knows his work really well. I would highly recommend Gilmer/Senor Door Tec. They are the best garage door company in the DMV."

"Having Steve and his crew refinish my garage floor was the
best decision I could have made for my garage remodeling project. The outcome
is better than I could have imagined. Steve was extremely punctual, arriving
right on time for all appointments and always professional. All the work was
performed on schedule and the process was explained in detail.
I had considered doing the floor myself with the standard
materials for sale, but after seeing how much preparation was involved and the
difference it made in the final result, I highly recommend having Steve and his
staff do it for you. The groundwork was essential to the whole process, from
the stripping, leveling and shot blasting, which I doubt I could have done myself
without a lot of headache. Having the right equipment makes all the difference.
It is no exaggeration to say that the look and durability of
my floor are simply astounding. This floor coating has completely transformed
my garage and the value it has added to my home is immeasurable. I couldn?t be
more satisfied.

"My old garage door was a disaster! Tom from Pop's came out as scheduled, and gave me two estimates, (repair/replacement). He had to go to another job and pick up a part for my job, as I chose repair. Tom was back when he said he would be, and fixed my door in a timely, professional manner, for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Pop's Garage Door. They turned a bad situation into a pleasant experience, as my garage door works better than it has in years!!"

"Excellent. They fixed my garage next day because they had the panel for my garage door the other installers needed a month to get from the manufacturer on back order, including the big box store. Reasonable price, great service."

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
