"Excellent. They fixed my garage next day because they had the panel for my garage door the other installers needed a month to get from the manufacturer on back order, including the big box store. Reasonable price, great service."

"I researched five companies, crossed out two immediately due to too many inconsistent or negative review comments & I invited three companies. See the before pic and the two after pictures. The owner’s meeting was ‘real’ not ‘salesey’. The business is a local business, a plus when comparing to remote corporate company sales calls without long-time local installations. The price was very reasonable and much less than other companies. A decision for a discount for doing more than one garage floor install at the same time in the same community, was made on the spot. Two day install and then two full days drying/hardening time (it was my choice to add another day before moving in cars). Highly recommend this company and the expertise of their installers! Do your due diligence & you’ll see why I recommend this company. Enjoy your new garage floor soon!"

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
